It’s been less than a year since we released our four core beers in cans, and we’re ecstatic to announce a new addition to the flock. This isn’t a seasonal release, like the Autumnation of last fall or Diesel, still going ’round this winter. It isn’t our upcoming spring seasonal can, either. It’s a never-before-released, big beer in a slim, 12 oz. can with a potent burst of hops and as strong as an ox: Resin. We zeroed in on the botanical structure of the hop cone to get to the essence of this beer. When hops are at their peak maturity, their cores swell up with a sticky, golden, resinous substance that is the flavor you crave from an IPA. WIth an IBU of 103 and ABV of 9.1%, Resin can be loosely described as a double IPA — but rarely do Sixpoint beers adhere to any strict style demands.

Pours a beautiful clear amber with off-white frothy head. Not a whole lot of smells, but it definitely got some pine in there, and a sweet note of malt. Lots of pine in the flavour, orange peels and grass are obvious too. More sweet caramel malt. No disturbing alcohol. More refreshing than most double ipas, and overall pretty great. + More pine.

Can sample at a tasting at Beer & Beyond, Tel Aviv. Slightly hazy golden with medium off-white head, nice lacing. Aroma of onion, hoppy, a bit fruity (citrus). Nice hoppy bitterness, grassy, "green", a bit malty, well balanced, creamy. Lively carbonation. Medium body. Sticky bitter aftertaste. Excellent.

Piney, sweet, and full of hops. Love this IPA. A clear appearance with just the right amount if Amber haze. Little to no after taste but the taste is memorable! Need.... More ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Aroma: Resin, the name makes sense! Also some citrus and pinetree. Slight alcohol in the nose. Beautiful golden color, white head dissipates quite quickly. Not a strong malt-flavor on this one, maybe a bit of caramel. Its all about the hops. Not overly bitter and does not linger. Carries its alcohol well. Really a nice beer, while not being a top of its style.
