COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
It’s been less than a year since we released our four core beers in cans, and we’re ecstatic to announce a new addition to the flock. This isn’t a seasonal release, like the Autumnation of last fall or Diesel, still going ’round this winter. It isn’t our upcoming spring seasonal can, either. It’s a never-before-released, big beer in a slim, 12 oz. can with a potent burst of hops and as strong as an ox: Resin. We zeroed in on the botanical structure of the hop cone to get to the essence of this beer. When hops are at their peak maturity, their cores swell up with a sticky, golden, resinous substance that is the flavor you crave from an IPA. WIth an IBU of 103 and ABV of 9.1%, Resin can be loosely described as a double IPA — but rarely do Sixpoint beers adhere to any strict style demands.

Pours a beautiful clear amber with off-white frothy head. Not a whole lot of smells, but it definitely got some pine in there, and a sweet note of malt. Lots of pine in the flavour, orange peels and grass are obvious too. More sweet caramel malt. No disturbing alcohol. More refreshing than most double ipas, and overall pretty great. + More pine.

Golden in color with a slight bit of chill haze and with sticky lacing around the glass. Resinous and catty pungent aroma. Medium-bodied, slick, and very drinkable with a lingering finish. Good malt backbone but not overly sweet. Lot’s of hop flavor and finishing bitterness which is assertive but not overly astringent. This is a well-balanced IIPA and tasty!

From the skinny can right after an Anti-Hero. Pours golden orange and clear with a fluffy two finger head. Big earthy pine and grass aroma and interestingly something that smells almost oaky. Big slick mouthfeel with medium carbonation. Pine bitter dominates but fades into some sweet malt and then back to a very dry bitter pine finish. The malt profile really balances this nicely while letting the hops shine. Very good and accessible DIPA now that we have it in Gainesville...and I can convince people it’s just an energy drink from the can ;-)

5/21/13. 12oz can from Grassroots. Barely hazy amber pour with a fluffy khaki head that cuts but laces really well. Soapy, floral hop aromatics with touches of mineral aspects and light caramel. Bitter hop kick in the flavor, more of the malt backbone coming through, more floral and pine aspects, and lingering dryness. Not bad!

12oz can, thanks Allen! Label indicates a rather austere 103IBU and 9,1ABV, but this turned out to be a very well-balanced DIPA that got smoother and tastier as it warmed. Pours a gorgeous creamy milky-peach orange with stable white head. Pine onslaught of probably mainly Columbus hops, well kept in check by almost chewable caramel malts. Some alcohol briefly shining through. Smooth, bold, delicious, with a mighty wallop.

Pours deep orange hazy and has a two finger head of of off white foam that fell fairly fast but left nice thick lace. Nose is great. Piney hops, lots of resins, tangerine and grapefruit. As a point of interest -the tangerine in this beer literally fills up your mouth like a real tangerine. It’s is the most accurate tasting of a specific fruit in a beer that I have ever noticed. Good citrus with a sugary and pungent nose. Taste is breaddy with a honey sweetness. Woody grassy hops play off the ripe fruit and the citrus lends a slight pucker. Silky malt that has plenty of caramel and brown sugar. Finishes nice and bitter with a bit of grapefruit, a bit of alcohol warmth and plenty of oils to coat the palate; but they don’t disturb the palate. It’s a little chewy in the finish with strong tea like qualities and toasted malt flavor. Grand.

Can. Darker gold with a frothy beige head. Strong hops aromas but they are more carmely than piney. Smooth and creamy with a more mellow and citrus flavors. I usually like being bowled over with bitter hops but this is a great change of pace. Neat DIPA.

Dear Sixpoint Brewery... Thank you. Resin is amazing! Pours a beautiful honey color with a nice white cap. Smells like pineapple. Bold double IPA flavor coming through. Hoppy, pineapple, and slightly pine flavored with notes of other citrus fruits. If you see it... Buy it ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Cloudy golden orange pour with a white head. Really strong pine aroma with a moderate citrus nose. Some bread, grapefruit, and maybe some floral notes. The flavor is highly bitter. Plenty of pine and grapefruit peel. Some floral hops, sweet bread, and a touch of grass and butter.

Very clear orange/golden. Big white frothy head that lingers. Small amount of carbonation. Aroma is very hoppy and bitter. Resin and pine. Very skunky. Mouth is BITTER and hoppy. Pine and floral hops with caramel. A hop heads dream. No sweetness what so ever.
