Itís been less than a year since we released our four core beers in cans, and weíre ecstatic to announce a new addition to the flock. This isnít a seasonal release, like the Autumnation of last fall or Diesel, still going íround this winter. It isnít our upcoming spring seasonal can, either. Itís a never-before-released, big beer in a slim, 12 oz. can with a potent burst of hops and as strong as an ox: Resin. We zeroed in on the botanical structure of the hop cone to get to the essence of this beer. When hops are at their peak maturity, their cores swell up with a sticky, golden, resinous substance that is the flavor you crave from an IPA. WIth an IBU of 103 and ABV of 9.1%, Resin can be loosely described as a double IPA ó but rarely do Sixpoint beers adhere to any strict style demands.

Green can from a local store. Citrus and floral aroma. Yellowish orange with a white bubbly head that sticks around. Very hoppy. Very bitter. Good ABV and well hidden. I would say this beer is a slightly dulled down version of a Stone IPA. Pretty good.

Draft at beertemple. Aroma of piney hops and citrus. Soft sweet bitter taste of pine, sweet fruit, caramel, resinous hops and peach. Didnít get the high IBU, solid dipa though.

Pours a clear amber color with medium off-white head. Dank aroma, resin, pine, pineapple, tropical fruits and slightly bread. taste follows the aroma, so fresh, so dank, full of citrus fruits, mango, grapefruit, resin and pine, with a strong bitterness on the aftertaste.

Iíve enjoyed many energy drink-sized cans of this over the years. The first time I had it it was like a revelation. Iíd never had a beer this hoppy and complex. In later years Iíve stopped being quite so blown away, but my basic appreciation is still there. Itís fantastic.

Shared can. Clear deep golden with a mesijm light tan head. Heavy resin and pime on the nose. Taste is bitter. Alot of pine and resin hop flavors. A solid malty body makes it fairlt balanced, but its still very bitter. Lasting bitter finish. Close to full bodied with avg co2.

Perfect all around DIPA here. Citrusy and resiny like the can says, this one will definitely do you right.

Pours golden and clear with a frothy, classic dry-hopped white head. Nose is strong floral hops and citrus and dead-on for the style. Flavor is surprisingly tame for the triple digit IBU but very well balanced between the hops and a big, semi-sweet malt. Finish is a little sticky and still balanced. Not quite as big of a hop monster as Iíd hoped for but still very good.
