COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Itís been less than a year since we released our four core beers in cans, and weíre ecstatic to announce a new addition to the flock. This isnít a seasonal release, like the Autumnation of last fall or Diesel, still going íround this winter. It isnít our upcoming spring seasonal can, either. Itís a never-before-released, big beer in a slim, 12 oz. can with a potent burst of hops and as strong as an ox: Resin. We zeroed in on the botanical structure of the hop cone to get to the essence of this beer. When hops are at their peak maturity, their cores swell up with a sticky, golden, resinous substance that is the flavor you crave from an IPA. WIth an IBU of 103 and ABV of 9.1%, Resin can be loosely described as a double IPA ó but rarely do Sixpoint beers adhere to any strict style demands.

Can. Pours orange. Aroma is stellar! Grapefruit, citrus, and hops. 2 1/2 fingers of head. Iím constantly amazed at these canned IPAís. Well balanced hops for itís strength.

BBD 1/17/16. Pours a clear gold with a touch of amber. World class head volume, lacing and retention. Intense world class nose of hops (grapefruit, pine and spruce resin, orange, tangerine) over a solid biscuit backdrop with a touch of caramel. Heavy medium body with a slick oily texture. Above normal carbonation with a bit of effervescence in the middle and a nice prickly burst in the finish. Near world class flavor profile that is reasonably intense, quite complex and very well balanced. It begins with a burst of sweet citrus hops that is orange and tangerine. This flows into the grapefruit and resin elements, then the sweetness begins to shift towards biscuit. The middle brings a mild bitterness that is still well balanced with biscuit and sweet tropical notes. I was surprised by how subtle and balanced the bitterness was considering it clocks in at 100 IBU - a testament to true brewer skill. As the finish approaches, the alcohol looses itís cover and a fair amount of astringency creeps in. The finish is a slow astringent and bitter fade ( grapefruit and pine resin ) over a subtle biscuit with a hint of caramel.

Aroma of sweet Tokaj. Taste of raisins. Sweet, with a hint of bitterness. Not my first choise, yet not terrible.

12oz can. Appearance: Deep golden with an orange hue, clear, with a moderate white head. Aroma: Name of this beer is fitting, with a resinous, piney aroma dominant. Also some grass and tropical fruit notes. Taste: Starts out with a sweet maltiness, turns to a grassy citrus, then turns into a sharp, resinous, piney bitterness. Mouthfeel: Medium body with a moderately high carbonation. Finish: Strong bitterness, and a dry resin stickiness on the tongue. Overall: Definitely a hop bomb, but has a strong enough malt backbone to balance it. More well rounded than most IIPAs.

Can in Portland. Hazy orange amber pour with thin head. Aroma is pine resin - soapy almost. In a good way. Taste is crazy sharp pine hop bitterness. Quite crisp seeming for such a huge beer but I think that's mostly the bitter resinousness. Not without malt flavor but resin dominates. Good DIPA very very piney.

Little can. Pours a murky dark amber with a dense and creamy off white head. Big tangy sweet grapefruit nose. Creamy thick body with soft carb. Caramel and heavy grapefruit, very sweet but very crisp and refreshing. Bright in the back and not cloying.

Can to snifter. Clear golden pour with a frothy white head. Mix of floral hops and pine resin in the aroma. Flavor starts out nearly sour, fades out into a malty sweetness, then ends with the bitter hop punch you expect. Well hidden ABV, too.
