COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Itís been less than a year since we released our four core beers in cans, and weíre ecstatic to announce a new addition to the flock. This isnít a seasonal release, like the Autumnation of last fall or Diesel, still going íround this winter. It isnít our upcoming spring seasonal can, either. Itís a never-before-released, big beer in a slim, 12 oz. can with a potent burst of hops and as strong as an ox: Resin. We zeroed in on the botanical structure of the hop cone to get to the essence of this beer. When hops are at their peak maturity, their cores swell up with a sticky, golden, resinous substance that is the flavor you crave from an IPA. WIth an IBU of 103 and ABV of 9.1%, Resin can be loosely described as a double IPA ó but rarely do Sixpoint beers adhere to any strict style demands.

Poured a cloudy golden orange of a skinny can. Initial flavor is strong hops, but it mellows surprisingly quickly. I read 9.1% alcohol on the can, but is very well disguised (a good thing, and a dangerous thing). I want more. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Can, William Wygston, Wigston. Hazy golden orange with a bubbly off white head. Pale toasted malts with resinous, green, herbal pine and bittersweet grapefruit. Floral with light tropical sweetness. Nutty with a mineral body. Spiced oranges with candy sugar. Sticky. Leafy bitter, pithy finish. Very good easily available beer.

Can from Wetherspoons, pours a clear amber-brown with a lasting straggly head. The nose lives up to the name - a resin hit, with hints of honey, orange and maybe thyme. It has the legs and viscosity of a heavy wine, which hit the palate slightly syrupy and dry-sweet, before turning bitter and harshening into the finish. Touches of marmalade and golden syrup donít do enough to balance the stringent dry-bitter aftertaste.

Pours a clear golden with a loose white head which fades quickly and laces well......aroma of citrus, tropical fruit, sweetness......taste is sweet malt, melon, citrus, light carb (which works well), slight bittering, bread on the back end. A DIPA which is not obnoxious, well balanced and enjoyable.

Can to glass golden pour with good pine aroma and mildly sweet flavor and heavy hitting hop bitterness. Hops on top on this one. Needs lessons from big brother Hi_Res which is a lesson in how to brew a DiPA .

Can. JDW on Leeds station. Just turned noon. Proper welfare. Orange gold, with a deep haze. Dense, lasting, clingy, white head. Leggy and viscous. Looks fantastic. Nose has juicy, jammy, pithy citrus hop. Notes of sappy pine. A little dank and grimy. Taste is juicy, sappy bitter. Some jammy sweetness. Medium body. Smooth mouthfeel. Doesnít feel the ABV particularly. In fact itís scary easy to drink. Long, resinous, chewy bitter finish. Must be the most decent boost juice available in the UK at the minute?

On tap at Hop & Vine in north Burnaby. A medium amber beer with moderate white head and hop nose. Wow this is bitter! Clean strong bitter notes of hop resin lightly malted. Nice!

A slender can at The William Jolle (Wetherspoons), Northwood Hills, Grtr London, England. Havenít been to a Spoons for at least 4 months and I clock this in the fridge behind the pretty barmaid. A golden/orange coloured pour with a medium white head on top. Hoppy, pine, orange marmalade, caramel on the nose. Tastes hoppy, pine, orange, caramel, quite bitter but then the sweetness creeps in. 2 cans of this went down a treat on a sunny sunday afternoon, forget the usual crap that Wetherspoons have on their taps and drink this beauty.

Can, 355ml at a Wetherspoons. Hazy amber with white head. There is a powerful alcohol bitterness from the start of this one, yes resinous, hard hop notes, bittering but then with a sweet background. Challenging, particularly as a breakfast beer, which this was. Not particularly fruity for me, more the bittering part of the hop flavour. Good stuff.

Can from St Matthews hall, Walsall. Slightly hazy amber beer with medium head. Aroma of orange marmalade, pine resin and caramel. Taste is pine resin, marmalade, caramel and stewed fruits. A little chewy. Excellent.

many thanks to Bob. Great floral nose. Fresh smooth beginning. Easy to drink, not too intense but lots of floral and piney hops. The body is slightly sweetish, round with fresh piney hints.
