Very solid pale ale for super cheap! Sixpoint never disappoints, and this brew is no different. Two to three fingers of foam from can, taupe in color, with cloudy copper color beer body. Bitter hop in the middle, slight citrus nose, clingy finish.

This is a great rye from an increasingly good brewery. Perhaps their best offering that I’ve had. The rye is spicy, very peppery, and there is a nice hop body to accentuate it.

Pours a cloudy golden brown on two with lacy off-white head and great lacing. Aroma of rye spice, piney hops, and soapiness. Taste is biscuit grains, bit of peppery rye, and a lingering metallic astringency. Not sure I like this very much.

Tap at Proof. Murky gold-brown pour. Aroma is rye, spice, pine. Tastes are the same with good caramel backbone. Also some light citrus. Nice creamy thin to medium.

Draft at proof. Deep amber pour with a bubbly tan head. Resiny, slightly skunky and citrus hops, spicy rye and sweet maltiness. Sweet and spicy rye malts up front and through mid palate and ending on a citrus and spicy hop note. Pretty tasty.

Amber pour, rye malts and bitterness are in a smooth union. Hops may be too much for some, but my palate welcomed it. Alcohol is just right, and a welcome beer to share with your friends

Canette 473ml.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Cybercat (2519) - Georgia, USA - MAY 15, 2013
Malty aroma has a decided rye overtone and hints of hops and yeast. It comes out of the growler a clear chestnut with a fine-bubbled creamy wheat head. Rye dominates the sharp, crisp flavor, which has green wood and malty notes and subtle caramel and nutty hints. Smooth texture has just a little fizz and leaves a rather bitter green wood finish. OK, not Sixpoint’s best, but maybe this was not their best batch.

16oz can. Pours opaque brown with a lasting creamy off-white head. Dense malty aroma. Medium/heavy body with foamy carbo, smooth on the mouth, sweetness and caramel front end with a hint of bitterness emerging to balance the middle. Overall an honest brew but maybe a little sweet for me.
