COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
They should be good men; their affairs as righteous: But all hoods make not monks. Beneath a deep blanket of snow there is a cereal grain that can survive the harsh winters and acidic soils - RYE. Like a draped hood over a monk, it is the righteousness inside that shines.

Pours ruby read with, big long lasting off-white head. Grapefruit, black currant and pine on the nose. Medium bitterness with some malt sweetness and a long and dry bitter finish. Medium mouthfeel and carbonation. Pretty heavy stuff.

Tallahassee, Fl - Growler Country - on tap. Dark copper pour, sticky off-white head - nice film of lacing. Light toffee on the aroma, hint of nuttiness. Flavor has some sweet toffee, a touch of rye mintiness, light earthy topsoil notes. Nice, full, rich mouthfeel.

Canned (backlog). Hazy ambery brown colour with a small, but longlasting off-white head that also leaves some lace. Aroma is mildly toasted, nutty, some rye as well as quite strong on the floral and fruity side too. Flavour is ryebread, some mild toasted notes, grains as well as some mild fruity and wooden notes as well. Mellow and in a strange way this one was a sipper, but something you just wanted more of.

Can. Light orange Amber, off white head. Aroma and flavour of sweet caramel, bready, a touch thin. Not getting much rye character here. A bit disappointing.

Can from Wine Emporium December 2013. A bit too grainy for me with grain aroma and sweet light malt flavour.
