Can at Momofuku in Toronto. A surprise to find this on the menu at a Toronto restaurant, as Sixpoint has never had any beer available up there previously - brought in as a private order, I guess. Pours a beautiful clear orange-gold with a snow white head that a lot of lacing. Aroma is excellent - sweet and bready malt, floral hops, a suggestion of lemon balm, all in balance. Crisp and clean body, just as the name suggests. Flavour is lovely, with floral, grassy & all-around snappy hops coming to the forefront without being too aggressively better. Maybe my surprise at finding it in an unexpected place has skewed my rating up by a couple of points, but it’s still one of the best lagers I’ve had in ages.

A hazy mid golden orange coloured beer with a frothy white head. Quite a light aroma, definitely hoppy, grassy and piney plus citrus fruit. Dry mouthfeel. A mild bitter hop taste, zesty citrus peel and grassy, the. A light biscuity malt flVour soothes the bitterness. The finish is long and hoppy.

Draft pour at Upstairs. Aroma of citrus (grapefruit, maybe pineapple). Taste of citrus, somewhat refreshingly so. No bitter after taste. Decent pilsner.

Can from The Punch Bowl pub, York. Very pale straw coloured with a thin white head. It has a grassy and citrus fruity flavour, malty and sweet toffee notes followed by pine and pineapple on the gentle, smooth finish. Pretty good.

BBD 3/18/15. Golden pour with a very slight haze. Outstanding head volume, lacing and retention. Outstanding nose of citrus hops (tangerine, orange) over biscuit with hints of lemon and a very subtle spicy herbal note. Light body with a bit of smoothness in the texture. Slightly above normal carbonation with a bit of effervescence in the middle and a nice prickly finish. The outstanding flavor profile is intense, not very complex and well balanced. It begins with a blended hop flavor (herbal, lemon) that slowly separates into orange towards the middle. A crisp bitterness emerges in the middle over a balancing biscuit. The finish is slow bitter fade with a bit of a pucker and is semidry.

Can in Wetherspoons at Stansted Airport. Pale amber, clear and with a medium white foam head. Nose is sweet malt, grassy, lemon, little sour sherberty, fresh cut straw. Taste is bitter, grassy, barley malt grainy, straw, bit of menthol, touch of pine, crisp dry lager yeast. Somewhere between a lager and a golden ale.

12 oz. can poured at my brother’s house in Methuen, MA. Pours a clear yellow with no head. Smells like citrus hops. Tastes like citrus with a bitter finish. Noticeable lack of carbonation. Drinkable.
