3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Can at Momofuku in Toronto. A surprise to find this on the menu at a Toronto restaurant, as Sixpoint has never had any beer available up there previously - brought in as a private order, I guess. Pours a beautiful clear orange-gold with a snow white head that a lot of lacing. Aroma is excellent - sweet and bready malt, floral hops, a suggestion of lemon balm, all in balance. Crisp and clean body, just as the name suggests. Flavour is lovely, with floral, grassy & all-around snappy hops coming to the forefront without being too aggressively better. Maybe my surprise at finding it in an unexpected place has skewed my rating up by a couple of points, but it’s still one of the best lagers I’ve had in ages.

2.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
No zigs, zags, strange hops or weird adjuncts. Straight up Pilsener makes The Crisp a above average light bodied beer.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Draught and cans over the years, since debut, most recently at the Brooklyn Bowl on 10/7/16.
Clear, pale-golden/flaxen colored body is topped by a fairly dense, white head showing good retention.
Crackers, biscuits, citric hops and lots of spicy, herbal character in the nose with a big peppery finish and light cereal hints as well. Seemingly very nice attenuation, as the nose, other than showing some American hop notes (very light pine) and light cereal notes, shows very strong grainy malts, as well. No alcohol or flaws.
Dry, yet with a good suppleness from the malts, the beer contains no shortage of hops, with herbs, lemon, pepper and even pine and light grapefruit. Bitterness builds up a bit much, perhaps and the light pine seems somewhat out-of-place. No alcohol or flaws, though I’ve had more than one can, over the years, which was full of diacetyl. Been a while, though, so I hope they’ve got that behind them. Anyways, a good pilsner available in lots of places you wouldn’t get craft beer otherwise. Even if there’s a bit more resin in most Six Point beers than I’d like, it’s still quite drinkable and thankfully on the dry side.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Not a bad Pilsner. Slight hop bite and "crisp" enough. Vikings VS. Packers pregame. Go Viks!
