There is no beautifier of complexion, or form, or behavior, like the wish to scatter joy and not pain around us. Crisp Lager has nothing to hide behind - no makeup to cover up any flaws. Raw ingredients and their essence, full and unabated...uninhibited...CRISP.

Poured a clear yellow color with a white head. Head had good retention and some mild lace. Aroma had a nice malt presence. Some nice cereal ad toast notes. Some mild hop notes. Flavor was nice. A good balance between slightly sweet malts and nice toasted malts. Hops seemed to have a mild peppery flavor to the, Carbonation was not overpowering and, it certainly lived up to its name.

355ml can, poured into snifter. A: Slightly darker than normal pils, Large head, good retention, lots of lacing, the haziest filtered (I think) lager I’ve ever seen. S: German style noble hops, could have been Warsteiner. T: Doughy, bitter, something really reminded me of Duvel. M: Lacked the bite of an authentic German Pils, thick body, smooth, not much carbonation. O: A Pils with a US craft slant, wouldn’t turn it down if offered one but can’t help thinking the Germans make better versions of domestic styles.

Can from JDWs, just known as ’The Crisp’. Which is an apt description, nice balance and indeed a crisp finish with a malty body rounded off by decent bitter hops in the finish. Just a touch of sweetness - really enjoyable pils.

Can @ White Hart, Todmorden, UK, as ’The Crisp’. Pale yellow with a smooth head. Has very light malts but as the name suggest more crisp than any other defining feature.

Hazy golden with a fizzy white head. Fairly good retention and some lacing. Aroma is fruity and floral with some hops. Taste is of grapefruit and lemon, with grassy hops and bitterness. Somewhat floral with some maltiness and pine. Long bitter finish. Medium to heavy carbonation and light body.

Golden in colour with a whiye head. Lacing is very good with steady carbonation. Some slight bitterness followed by grassy and resin flavours. There is a very faint fruity taste.

Fra fad, ABC Restaurant, New York. Næsten klar, gylden, ok hvid hat. Græs, hø og citrus i næsen. Ren og frisk og med en delikat antydning af røg. Lever op til sit navn.

Can at the Moon Under Water (JDW), Watford on 9 March 2014. Poured a clear, golden with dense, white head and good lacing. Sweet, malty aroma with notes of dried fruit and dough. Initial flavours of lager malt, straw and sultanas. Finish was mango, hay and dry grains.

355ml Can from Crystal Palace (Wetherspoons), Glasgow (£2.49):
Light pilsener malts & some grassy hops with a crisp & clean aroma that has some bittersweet notes coming through & faint citrus with a few earthy notes as well. It was a fairly light smelling beer & pretty much as I was expecting for the style.
Clear, light golden colour with a lot of visible carbonation showing through plenty of bubbles rising to the surface. Has a half cm, foamy white head that hold pretty well with some lacing too.
Light & clean pilsener taste with some earthy bitterness coming through & a few malts as well. There was a light citrus & lemon taste with some grassy hops on top of that.
Smooth & clean on the palate with a naturally crisp finish as the name hinted at. The beer was a good thirst quencher with carbonation levels about medium with a medium body & a slightly bittersweet finish.

A decent pilsener & not a bad offering from Sixpoint, although it wasn’t in the same league as their Bengali Tiger. Nice & crisp, living up to the name at least but there are better pilseners out there.

Bue à la pression. Couleur jaune, trouble. Une légère amertume couronne le tout.
