2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Draft at the Blue Monkey in Merchantville, NJ.
Pours a very cloudy, dark golden orange color thatís completely opaque with a half finger white head that immediately settles into a thin ring. Minimal lacing.
Floral hop aroma with dome earthy, grassy notes and faint citrus fruit. Pine needle with some orange peel and mango. Strong malt backbone with some caramel and biscuit.
Chewy mouthfeel with a blast of dry, sticky hops that linger over the sweet malt backbone into a bone dry finish. Bitter with a strong earthy pine presence that dominates the flavor. Faint citrus notes with a malt backbone thatís stronger than I prefer. Hints of caramel, toffee and biscuit but this beer is kind of a one dimensional hop bomb.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20
Growler from Spirits Point. Poured a good looking deep honey amber body under a bright white foamy average sized foamy head. Aroma was very nice with notes of cirus, grapefruit, dry pine needles, hop resin, grains and toast. Body was perfect, medium body with average carbonation and a slight lingering finish. The flavor wasnít as great as the aroma, notes of very bitter and dry grapefruit rind, toast and some citrus meat. Good stuff all around on this one.
