3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
355ml bottle, poured into snifter. A: Looked like a
Hefeweizen, amber very cloudy, medium head that
hung around quite a while, had floaters, lots of
lacing. S: Lemon, cascade hop, hint of diacetyl.
T: Citrus fruits and wheat, yeasty, sweeter than a
pale ale, fruitier than a hefeweizen. M: Creamy
texture, minimal carbonation, very smooth. O: As
a fan of Pale Ales and a reluctant Weizenbier
drinker I’d say it combined the best of both beers.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Can at JDWs. Biscuity malt, some berries coming through and a hops to balance. Nice enough.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Aroma: herbs, floral hops, spices. Appearance: hazy gold/orange, massive frothy white head. Taste: medium bitter and sweet. Palate: dry bitterness, but sweets coming up, kinda weird, malty and bitter. Overall: decent Cream Ale, but not my favourite beer style. Can from Drinks of the World Zurich HB, Switzerland.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
(Draught at Bishop’s Arms Folkungagatan, Stockholm, 7 March 2014) Amber colour with frothy, white head. Malty, slightly fruity nose with toffee, orange and dried fruit. Malty taste with notes of orange, butterscotch, a soft malt character, hints of berries (cloudberry jam) and a balanced floral bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a certain sweetness. Well balanced and quite tasty. Quite nice.

Not a bad beer. Nice smooth mouth feel with caribbean fruit flavours. I do think it could do with adding more hops to intensify the flavours.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Can at the Moon Under Water (JDW), Watford on 9 March 2014. Poured a cloudy orange with a dense, white head and excellent lacing. Aroma of tangerine, straw and hop resin. Initial flavours of gentle soft fruit, flowery notes and some grassy hop. Finish was chewy malt, light hop resin and marmalade.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bue à la pression. Arômes dominés par les agrumes (citron/orange). Amertume modérée typique des bières américaines. Fraîche et correctement équilibrée.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Can at JDW. Served way too cold! Hazy, orange colour. Beautiful creamy head. Very good lacing. American hops dominates the aroma. Taste is a little disappointing, medium short bitterness. Leave the can to warm up if you want to try it at the Spoons.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
355ml Can from Crystal Palace Wetherspoons, Glasgow (£2.49):
Sweet malts & some subdued hops on the nose although the smell is definitely a very light on with only a few faint floral notes, some light caramel and even fainter still, some sweet fruits too.
Caramel amber in colour with a thumb-sized, foamy white head that seems quite creamy once it settles. Some lacing & good retention.
Sweet with some malts that hint at caramel, some sweet fruits and a touch of bitterness coming through. There is some further caramel & biscuit flavours with a few lager hops.
Creamy but with a thinner body than I was expecting, it was probably light medium at best but it was exceptionally smooth and quite easy to drink with low carbonation and a wet finish.
Average but drinkable with the sweet and creamy feel being a highlight for me. The main problem was that both the taste & the smell seemed too light and basic for me. I’ll stick with Bengali Tiger over this one every time.

The smell is more promising than the taste. Cloudy! Do the yanks not know how to make a clear beer. As a designer I love the packaging but ultimately disappointed as an ale lover
