Cask at Jimmy’s No 43. The aroma is sweet chocolate, brown sugar. The flavor is chocolatey, fruity. Surprisingly little roast. The appearance is slightly translucent brown, red hue. Thin in body, especially for a porter. The finish was a little odd, sour milk, sweet. Decent.

On tap. Pours a dark brown with a tan head. Aroma of bitter citrus hops initially followed by roasted malt. Flavor is quite hoppy with hop oils, salty notes, and some roast. Very enjoyable.

Location: Draft at Rattle ’N’ Hum, 2/19/11
Aroma: The nose is fairly light: roast, coffee, and light chocolate notes
Appearance: The pour is brown/black with a brown head and some lace
Flavor: The taste is mostly malty, fairly sweet, roasted flavor, light hop presence
Palate: The body is medium with a fairly solid mouthfeel to it
Overall Impression:
This was a decent offering, but nothing special in my opinion. I don’t have many complaints, it just wasn’t exciting enough for me to go any higher than this.

Pint glass. Courtesy of JRedmond. Chestnut brown pour... nicely carbonated with ripe hop beneath the more traditional malty porter flavors. I really liked this!
3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Slipstream (1786) - USA - FEB 24, 2011
Hey, this is cool - a collaboration between one of my favorite magazines (I subscribe to TimeOut New York) and one of my favorite brewers (Sixpoint, and I would subscribe to them too if I could). On tap at Rattle’n’Hum. Opaque pour with a nicely laced glass. Roasty coffee aroma. A sweet porter with some coffee and chocolate tones, pretty mild and malty, with a bit of soy sauce and a couple of other little somethings in there. Very nice brew - hats off to TONY and 6pt!

On draft at Blind Tiger, NYC. Aroma was a little light for a porter. Appearance dark opaque. Taste very lightly malty, not too strong. Nothing special about this beer.
