Can. Blackish with red edges. Peppers, chocolate, spice and toasted dark malts. A hint of spice as it warms. Not bad.

Pour is a black outta the can. Aroma is a nice roasted malt with some spicy peppers. Flavor is a minor roasted malt with a little hot pepper kick toward the end. This is a beer that would deffinatly be better with food. On itís own itís a regular stout with some hot pepper spice added to it.

Beautiful black body with a thin tan head. Wonderfully inviting aroma of chocolate and spice. The palate is a bit thin, but very smooth. The flavor is sweet and chocolately up front, and that fades to a spicy finish. There's a bit of a hot pepper aftertaste. Wow. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Can via trade. Pours clear dark brown with a fizzy head that quickly fades to nothing. Aroma of cinnamon, vegetal chili pepper and chocolate. Flavor is spicy cinnamon and chocolate mostly with some coffee and a very slight chili pepper heat. Medium to full body with prickly carbonation. Iím sometimes skeptical of chili beers but this is a really nice one, all the flavors come together well.

Spicy..can definitely taste the chilis in it. I liked the taste but found it to smell of plastic and general metallic weirdness. Overall pretty good as the spice overcame the smell.

Pour out of can, dark black pour with off white head, aroma brought notes of big chili, chocolate, nice cinnamon, earth, some coffee, toffee, sweet cocoa, nice balance overall. Taste is nice, a little watery, but nice chocolate, coffee, hints of chili and pepper notes, some cinnamon, toffee, finishing fairly sweet, bitter, and dry, with a slight hint of heat. This works fairly well.

Draft at Fountainhead. Really glad I gave this one a try! Pours black with a dark brown head. Nose is spicy, cocoa, cinnamon and raisins. Chilies come out as well. Rich and full. On tasting, moderate heat, nice creamy notes on the palate. Cinnamon and faint astringency from it. Chocolate and chilly heat lend some raisin notes as well. Really well constructed beer. Big like.

12 oz. can from Plaza Liquors - Pours a dark brown color with a one finger thick light tan head that faded in a minute or so. Lightly carbonated. Faint tiny spotted lacing. Aroma is esters, light toasted malt, and hints of peppers, cinnamon, and cocoa. Flavor is much of the same. Medium body. Not as spicy (heat) as I thought it would be. A pleasant beer.

Pleasantly surprised by this beer, simply because of my expectations based on the ingredient list. Smooth chocolate taste with a more subtle pepper flavor at first, then mellows nicely as it is drank.

12 oz. can poured to a Czech-pils glass at Lunar Brewing Co., showing a lightly ruby highlighted, black/brown hue, with a rather fleeting layer of creamy, brownish tan head foam, and lacing that also disappeared quickly. If I didnít know that this bartender is always very particular about glassware, Iíd suspect a poorly cleaned glass. The aroma was earthy, peppery, herbal, a little woody, with some cocoa & dry coffee. Roastiness was present but well masked by the initial, stronger notes. The flavor proceeded to add some different components to up the complexity as spiciness, light sweetness, stone fruit, and a kind of berry lozenge taste. The body was medium+ and the carbonation was luckily subdued. A lively variety might have combined with the medium bitterness and pepperiness as a dart to the palate. As it was, they lingered well on the tongue, along with an oily texture, into the finish. Not that I would make a steady diet of this brew, but I liked itís well crafted diversity.
