Had to ding the appearance because while this beer started out with a huge head it was almost immediately gone. Dark black with a few bubbles at the surface. Aroma is cinnamon, cocoa, peppers, pretty good. Flavor follows suit but is really not robust enough and feels like it has a watery aftertaste. Both Cocoa Mole from New Belgium and Mexican Chocolate Stout from Copper Kettle are better beers, probably due to the body being thicker. Serving type: can Reviewed on: 09-29-2012 19:17:54

Wow. Unique stout brewed with interesting spice. Almost has a chili pepper kick at the finish. Definitely try this one. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a thin black with almost no head. Aromas of Mexican food, chocolate roast and peppers. Goddamn, this thing smells spicy. First sip... Reveals way too much chipotle pepper. Fuck, this is hot. And not in a good way. Shit. I really wanted to like this beer, but the pepper is just too much.

Can pours deep amber with a thin tan head of foam. The aroma offers up some dark roasted malts, molasses covered cinnamon graham cracker and then a nice level of chili pepper. The taste delivers dark roasted malts, some sweet molasses and a sense of cinnamon. It gets to a modest degree of chili pepper taste and heat heading into the finish. Pretty nice.

Can at home. Pour is pitch black with a frothy khaki head and good lacing. Cocoa, chili peppers, cinnamon, nutmeg, gingerbread, light clove, coffee, and bread in the aroma. Taste is roasted chocolate, light cherries, chili peppers, heavy cinnamon, potpourri, roast, espresso, and dark fruits with a lightly smoky finish. Medium mouthfeel with medium-to-soft carbonation. Nice mole stout, but not quite as good as New Belgium’s version.

Pour is a black outta the can. Aroma is a nice roasted malt with some spicy peppers. Flavor is a minor roasted malt with a little hot pepper kick toward the end. This is a beer that would deffinatly be better with food. On it’s own it’s a regular stout with some hot pepper spice added to it.

Beautiful black body with a thin tan head. Wonderfully inviting aroma of chocolate and spice. The palate is a bit thin, but very smooth. The flavor is sweet and chocolately up front, and that fades to a spicy finish. There's a bit of a hot pepper aftertaste. Wow. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Can via trade. Pours clear dark brown with a fizzy head that quickly fades to nothing. Aroma of cinnamon, vegetal chili pepper and chocolate. Flavor is spicy cinnamon and chocolate mostly with some coffee and a very slight chili pepper heat. Medium to full body with prickly carbonation. I’m sometimes skeptical of chili beers but this is a really nice one, all the flavors come together well.

Spicy..can definitely taste the chilis in it. I liked the taste but found it to smell of plastic and general metallic weirdness. Overall pretty good as the spice overcame the smell.
