3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Deep dark brown, black in glass, no head. Strong aroma is really spicy, peppery, coco (at least as I know it’s there), almost perfum - like notes, coffee and roasting under this. Soft and round but spices and carbonation add bit sting, medium body, alcohol, sweet, long spicy-perfumed finish. Interesting but close to bit artificial feel in this. Some originality anyway.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
This beer pours black with no head, and the aroma is strongly chocolate with slight hints of peppers. The taste of this beer is strongly of umami and lightly sweet, but the spice hits you a little after the initial taste. The palate of this beer combines a medium body, a slick yet thick texture, flat carbonation, and a long finish.

Aroma: Smelling of ashes, chipotle, chocolate and smoke.
Appearance: A black brown colored beer. No head, no lacing but good curtains.
Taste: Tasting cardamom bread, chili, ashes and smoke.
Palate: Low carbonation, a soft texture. A big body with a slightly dry finish.
Overall: A peculiar one, more interesting than good.
Note: Bottle 355 ml at a De Klomp tasting. Reviewed 2013-01-26.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Black, with a loose white head. Smells like chocolate and cinnamon. Chocolate and cinnamon flavor, too. I’m gonna say pralines? Is that an acceptable descriptor?

2.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
@ Basunen: mycket kryddig doft. Stor toner av pepparkakor och ingefära. Smaken är ganska söt men vätskan är verkligen tunn.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Black with a dark brown tinge, the head is sizzling and disappears quickly.
Aroma: wood, cocoa, coffee beans, light acetone, chili peppers eventually.
Taste: medium hot chilis with cayenne and ancho in the finish, cocoa, light licorice, some cream, vanilla. Woody, dry finish.
For me, this isn’t too bad, but not completely successful.

3.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
The head on the pour fades fast, most pepper beers do for me. The body is a dark brown, translucent near the edges.
the aroma is mostly dry chocolate with just a whisper of peppery spice, the pepper doesn’t come through a whole lot.
The flavors have more of the pepper but it presents less as a hot heat and more as a soft accent that breaks the chocolate down and makes it dryer and powdered flavor, really adds a neat flavor without any heat. This one might be good for someone who normally doesn’t like pepper beers.
I’d buy a 6er again.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a deep umber color with a three finger bubbly mocha head that fizzes out quickly. ON the nose there is a warm chocolate spice with hints of poblanos, cinnamon, cola and a touch of smokey chipolte. On teh palate it is creamy and smooth with a heavy sweet chocolate backbone that opens into a warm peppery spice that is well balanced and inviting. The finish continues with chocolate and caramel and a sneaky lil heat on the very tail end is a perfect ending. Nice beer !
