2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 3/20
Pours a thin black with almost no head. Aromas of Mexican food, chocolate roast and peppers. Goddamn, this thing smells spicy. First sip... Reveals way too much chipotle pepper. Fuck, this is hot. And not in a good way. Shit. I really wanted to like this beer, but the pepper is just too much.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Thick dark brown, no real head. Nose is a clingy peppery spice and light nutty choc. Initial taste is a fairly coppery bitter before a big salty spice. Carbonation is soft and mouthfeel is keen spicy pepper. Finishes a nice cough of sweetness but lingers brave and spicy. Kinda one sided, like a delicious rasher of bacon with a burnt edge.

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Appearance - black and opaque, no head.
Nose - initial chocolate and coffee with green pepper. Then, something perfumed (violets) and then there’s a stewed plum thing.
Taste - tonnes of chocolate and coffee and a lovely green pepper and stewed plums again.
Palate - medium bodied with a creamy and fruity middle section and a balanced dry finish.
Overall - this is delicious. Many others don’t agree. Democracy doesn’t work!

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Can. Strong chili pepper aroma with notes of cocoa and cinnamon. Pours very dark brown with a thin light brown head that burns off quickly due to high carbonation. Starts with cocoa and cinnamon with a bit of chili heat in the background. Finishes a bit spicy with the chili burn coming to the forefront to produce a bit of heat on the palate. Ok, but not the best chili beer I've had.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Appearance: The darkest shade of brown, nearly black, with absolutely no head.
Aroma: a tingling pepper sensation with underlying notes of cocoa. With the beer being nearly black, there is no presence of chocolate or roast. As the beer warms, the heat from the peppers fades away and cinnamon spice becomes more apparent.
Body: Medium bodied
Carbonation: medium- low carbonation
Flavor: The pepper flavor is there but not at all overwhelming. Cocoa is absent. Very minimal malt sweetness and no hop bitterness present. I wouldn’t say the flavor is all peppers, but it is defiantly the majority of it. As the beer warms up it is much the same as the aroma. Peppers aren’t as dominant as before, and cinnamon comes to the forefront. The cinnamon is not as powerful as the peppers were when the beer was first poured.
Finish: As you swallow the beer, the peppers fade away and the cocoa is released, but after a few seconds the heat from the peppers returns. Throughout the whole beer there is always this subtle heat that lingers on the palate from the peppers.
Worth trying, but would only have it again if it was paired with a complementary food dish.

2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Light brown. Aroma sort of explodes with cinnamon and jalapeño...uh... Why? That’s hatch...ok, what do hatch chiles have to do with mole? Ok so harsh chile and cinnamon. Again...what does this have to do with Mexico? This resembles none of the dozens of moles I’ve had in Puebla or Oaxaca. Just throwing stuff in a kettle for no reason.
