3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Candy orange and caramel malt with loads of boozy, oily hop resin. At first, it’s a bit "brash," but once you settle into it, it’s like a good scotch.

Dunkel hopfiger, etwas süßer Beginn, vollmundig. Leicht alkoholisch, blumig. Die Hopfigkeit verharrt auf hohem Level, etwas erdig, erst zum Ende herb, hohe Viskosität. Langer blumiger Nachgeschmack, dunkler werdend. 11/12/9/11/12/11

Thanks Iznogud & co! Dark amber body. Malt forward aroma? Yeah, past its prime. Light herbal hops. Sweet taste... damn sweet, some ice tea notes and some herbal notes do push through but this bottle is old and underwhelming. Will rerate if I find it fresh.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
On tap at Petrol. Pours a cloudy copper with medium frothy off white head that lasts. The aroma is strong floral hop and pine. Medium mouth, strong grapefruit, pine, very strong hop bite and lingering bitterness, very nice.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Collaboration brew with thick, egg-white, lacing, stable, hops-enhanced head over a pinkish, deep peach blonde beer, slightly misty. Strong hops aroma, impressions of fresh orange juice, pink grapefruit, tonic water, lime peel, freshly grated ginger, wormwood, peaches, pineapple, gin, freshly cut grass, toasted bread, cider, freshly cut chilli peppers, persimmon, rosewater, bitter honey, dry white wine, stale sweat, sea weed - all in a lovely, well-balanced way. I take my first sip with high expectations, and I am rewarded with a great flavour: exotic fruits at first fighting with equally exotic spices, minerally carbonation piercing through, drying hop bitterness and even slight saltiness unable to restrain itself and already dominating the middle phase, over a backbone of bready and slightly nutty, rounded, soft maltiness, retronasal honeyish sweetishness and of course the obiquitous hoppiness, evolving into a tongue-wrecking, peppery, citrussy, slightly salty, totally noble bitterness lasting for hours, leaving just enough room for some residual malt sweetness to creep in as well as a gin-like, warming but in no way astringent alcohol. This beer has guts, that much is clear. I adore this particular beer style and this is a mighty fine example of it. I have no idea how old it is (probably bought it online some day and as is often the case with Americans, not even a "best before" date is mentioned on the label) but it tastes as fresh as it can be. Fantastic double IPA, highly recommended.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
Aroma is mild and moderate, but you get the classic notes of IPA, citrus peels, fruits and rather prominent malt touch. The taste is also very heavy and chewy malts but with a hop sting. It doesn’t stand out as a true hop bomb, but it is a pleasant brew for sure.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
Shortlived off-white head; hazy ochre-amber beer. Sweet hoppy, rosewater, amandine, but to a very high level. Too perfumed by half. Sweet, almondy, marzipan, with hops, bit cheesy in the finish. Medium bodied, quite slick. Aftertaste has oxydized cookies. Rather Belgian features on the hoppy front, especially in the aftertaste. Not quite to my liking, I’m afraid.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
22oz bottle. Pale orange pour, thin head, thin lacing. Aroma is faint. Smells of hops, resiny, bold, citrus & pine, hints of caramel malts. Flavor is of resiny hops, oily alpha acids, tastes of pine bark. Tastes like my first homebrew, only stronger. Very strong IIPA. Half the bottle gone... and I’m warm. These Brash beers are big! Bottle pour hazy dark gold orange. Nose resin and dank hop. Some earthy but mostly dank. Nose appropriate for the name. Taste similar to nose with lots of dank. Mid palate caramel and toffee with sweet malt. Some alcohol. Bitter finish. Thick mouth feel.
