COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This Brown Ale has a touch of nuttiness provided by our good friends Mr. and Mrs. Victory and Munich Malt. The addition of Northern Brewer, Cascade, and Willamette hops smooth this beer out to create an incredibly drinkable Brown Ale.

UPDATED: AUG 16, 2013 12 oz bottle, undated despite coding bar on label, served in a pint glass in Sept. 2011. Poured a dark red-mahogany, clear with a smallish tan head that is short-lived. Aroma ofmedium and dark malt; a trace of spicy hops, a bit smoky. Rather understated. T - moderately malty, nicely nutty, with a medium- and well-roasted grain flavor and hints of banana and dark fruits. M- medium-light body; a bit light for style. Good carbonation. Slightly dry finish O - a fairly well-crafted if rather unremarkable English Brown. No real strong points or weaknesses.

Bottle. Light brown/rust ale with a quickly faded light tan head. A little nut, but mostly hoppy nose. Sweet first mouthful, then a big swathe of hoppiness - sweet and sherberty - but the finish is strong. Nuts, a little chocolate, sweet malts, some raisin.

In bottle at home. Pours a chestnut, ruby brown colour with a decent beige head. Aroma of toffee, treacle, candy sugar and alcohol. Similar toffee, coffee and candy sugar flavours. Definitely nailed the style.

Meh. Not bad, but certainly not a beer I would run to buy again. Tried this at the Pizza Outback in Taos, NM and it was one of the first SKA beers I’d ever had. Nutty, of course, but in a pleasant manner. Slightly sticky mouthfeel, some caramel and dark fruit flavors, but the aroma is bland and the beer lacks something that will set it apart. Sessionable.
