3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
12 oz bottle pours reddish-brown and pretty clear. Small light tan head with light patchy lacing. Aroma and flavor are roasted and toasted malts, chocolate, earthy hops, nuts and spices. Nice balance, sweet with just enough bitterness. Medium body, smooth feel and pleasing carbonation. Not bad for a brown ale.

2.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Pours a very dark brown with a fast diminished head and thin lacing. Scents of some robust malts and nutty hints. Drinks rather lightly for being a dark beer. Rather mild roasted malts taste with an awkward nutty finish. The way you expect this beer to taste and the way it actually tastes are two different things. Not completely horrible but definitely needs some work on its taste and texture.
