COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This Brown Ale has a touch of nuttiness provided by our good friends Mr. and Mrs. Victory and Munich Malt. The addition of Northern Brewer, Cascade, and Willamette hops smooth this beer out to create an incredibly drinkable Brown Ale.

12 oz bottle. Notches on the side of label says it was bottled Jan 02. hmmm. New to AZ, would they be shipping old stock here?.
Pours reddish brown, with a fizzy, short lived tannish head. no lacing.
Funky sour dirty sock aroma, I almost poured down the drain because of it.
flavor was better than the aroma, roasty, nutty, caramel.
Body was kind of thin
tiny bit of hops noted in the short finish. Probably wouldn’t buy again.

Nice aroma of nuts and roasty malts. But boy went downhill from there. Body dark color no head to speak of. Had a watery half sweet maly flavor to it. Roasty aftertaste but nothing special.

Whoa, the aroma is smack-you-in-the-face bad. lol. like a sewer hole in NYC where the steam rises up and you try to stay away from it cause you’re afraid you’ll smell all day if you walk over top of it... that kind of bad. The appearance is thin and watery with some light brown/amber colors. The flavors arent too bad though. Some maple syrup and nutty flavors, along with some toffee and chocolate undertones. Lots of carmel, decent malts. Mouthfeel isn’t bad but it’s way overcarbonated and thin.

Serving: 12 oz bottles shared by Jason. Thanks for the visit and bringing this with you to share.
Event: Rye Pale Ale (10 gallons) brew out.
Location: shigadeyo’s house.

Tasting Notes
Aroma: Old hops.
Appearance: Clear, dark amber brown with a creamy beige head.
Flavor: Tastes a lot like cheap homebrew. Some chocolate malt comes out toward the finish. The finish is dry and slightly roasty.
Palate: Medium body.
Overall: Not so good. Quite difficult to get down.

Bottle thanks to 17thfloor. Darker brown color, a little hazy, medium fizzy beige head. Aroma is very light, some roast. Barely anything in the flavor as well, it’s almost as if this was the light version of a brown; there is some light roasted malt and nutiness, bleh. Thin and watery. This might be the worst brown I’ve every had.

Bottle. Pours red-brown with good clarity, but the head disappears faster than a politician’s sense of honor. Nose is dry and savory with tea and nut notes. Drinks dark for a nut brown, and there is an unpleasant stale coffee/burnt sugar element. One-dimensional. Ska continues to underwhelm me.

Bottle. Pours clear dark brown with almost no head. Aroma of nut and dirty chocolate. Flavor is not so good in my opinion, several off flavors such as vegitable, bandaid, some nut, medicinal and a certain alcohol spice that just shouldn’t be there. Medium body and kinda watery with high carbonation....overall, taste like a poorly made homebrew. Extremely disappointed!

Pours coca-cola brown with almost no head. Nose is best part - initially almost meaty, olive and coffee notes. The flavor is almost like shiner bock with a little extra smokiness thrown in - slightly smoky/roasted malt and coffee, biting unpleasant end - dreck.

UPDATED: SEP 9, 2011 Pours a dark brown with a medium foamy beige head. Smells metallic and malty like keg beer. Some dark malt lays the base for vinegar like nuttiness. Burnt bitter finish. Fizzy carbonation. I don’t know about this stuff. 2/5/08 [Wow! bottle found in the back of my fridge from Sep 2007 - still has a huge amount of carbonation... they do an amazing job bottling I guess, flavors are much better now, malts more complex hehe, darker, sweeter, roastier. This beer just needs age! ] 1/15/09 [rerate 9/10/11] last bottle of that sep 07 batch haha, vinous, malty, crystal, great brown now!

Not sure where they get off calling this a nut brown. I didn’t catch any nuttiness flavor whatsoever. It had little to no aroma, some decent maltiness, but was mostly just a bland, watery waste of time.
