COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This Brown Ale has a touch of nuttiness provided by our good friends Mr. and Mrs. Victory and Munich Malt. The addition of Northern Brewer, Cascade, and Willamette hops smooth this beer out to create an incredibly drinkable Brown Ale.

Bottle from BR R - taking that for Beer Revolution. Probably in the frig for 6 months. Pours clear but dark ruddy brown with a slight beige head. Aroma of brown ale type malt. A little hop spice too - maybe even a hint of cinnamon. Med minus body. It’s a bit sweet - not very hoppy. There’s some lightly greasy nuttiness. And it’s finishing very lightly astringent and dry. Something changed there. Fairly tasty.

Aroma is that of a malty caramel, nutty chocolate. Appearance is rich dark brown. Taste is pleasantly nutty with a sweet caramel. Palate is thin, smooth with a touch of bitterness.

On tap at the Flying Saucer in Fort Worth. The beer pours a brown color with a small tan head. The aroma is full of toffee and caramel with a little bit of nuttyness mixed in. Straight forward but enjoyable. The flavor is more of the same. There is a little bit of brown sugar to go along with the hazelnut, toffee and caramel notes. There is a little bit of grass from the hops but it is hidden well behind the malt. Medium mouthfeel and low carbonation.

Meh. Not bad, but certainly not a beer I would run to buy again. Tried this at the Pizza Outback in Taos, NM and it was one of the first SKA beers I’d ever had. Nutty, of course, but in a pleasant manner. Slightly sticky mouthfeel, some caramel and dark fruit flavors, but the aroma is bland and the beer lacks something that will set it apart. Sessionable.

Bottle. Pours a rather dark brown with a smallish white head. Nose is rather malty and strong. Taste has some toasty notes to it with that strong malty backbone. OK...
