CaptainCougar (4664), Rockville, Maryland, USA Dec 22, 2007 Pours a transparent dark copper mahogany with a thin ring of spotty-lacing light tan head. Doughy sweet dark caramel nose has a touch of hazelnuts. Body starts semi-sweet and toasty nutty with a hint of light tartness and finishes watery with a hint of toasty grain. Body is a little dissappointing given the aroma, but still a pretty drinkable brown ale. hopdog (4648), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA Dec 7, 2005 12oz bottle acquired in trade with FlactoAlto (thanks!). Poured a deep and cloudy brown color with a small sized off white head. Aromas of nuts and toasted malts. Tastes of burnt nuts, toasted and lightly roasted malts, and a hint of caramel. Overall very nutty. Thinner body. hopscotch (4588), Vero Beach, Florida, USA Sep 5, 2006 Bottle... NTB Ernesto Festo ’06... Clear, deep copper ale with a small, creamy, off-white head. Chocolatey, malty nose and flavor with hints of diacetyl. The aroma is a touch floral as well. Medium-bodied with a creamy mouthfeel and modest carbonation. Sweet, chocolatey finish. acrdz (4376), Boulder, Colorado, USA Aug 15, 2003 Clear dark amber. Smells mildly spicey, malty, and somewhat bready. Tastes like a almond and caramel mixture. Mouthfeel is prickly and spicey, very nice texture.
