3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Very pristine copper pour with an inch of thick offwhite head, lots of bubbles. Earthy citrus hop aroma that’s orangey and bitter, sweet carmel malt too. Average carbonation, oily mouthfeel, finish was pretty clean. Relaly malt forward with doughy and carmel malt flavor, bitter orange pulp and piney/pitchy/resinous hops. Good DIPA but lots of malt.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bomber. No idea what the label has to do with anything. Pretty, pale marigold orange and an anemic ivory head. I appreciate that the beer is pale, not red or brown as so many 2IPAs are. The nose is rife with tropical fruits and Christmas tree, also toffee malt aroma... but weird plastic and lychee lurk in the shadows. Tastes semisweet and insanely fruity, but not neccesarily hoppy, with a big presence of sultanas and white rum, and hints of orange and MD20/20. Thin razor bitterness and bracing alcohic heft. Creamy without being "thick". The aftertaste combines fruity apple and hot asphalt. Some jagged edges and quality issues throughout. Except for the abv, doesn’t seem especially "imperial".

2.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
From start to finish there was nothing that stood out about this beer. However, nothing was lacking either. It's aroma was less than expected. The taste was true to its style. However it just seemed thin.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
22oz bottle (Old Notes)-Pours a hazy orangish amber with a decent sized head. Aroma of citrus and pine. Taste of the same with a bit of malt. This medium bodied brew is pretty well balanced and is not the best Imperial IPA but not the worst.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle purchased at Against the Grain, pours a dark clear copper with pretty much no head at all, the aroma was way sweeter than I was expecting, maybe a little bit of the hops come through, but not much, the flavor was much of the same, lots of caramel and malt through out with a hint of hops in the finish, with this being waxed dipped and all I was hoping for a little more.......looking at you CIB.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
On tap at Barrels & Bottles. Golden, orange and clear with a white head and light lacing. Floral, earthy aroma with tropical fruit, citrus hops, caramel, toffee, pine and light alcohol. Similar flavor, sweet and balanced with a bitter, lingering finish. Medium to full body... not bad, but not that good.

The appearance of this beer in the store is very favorable, makers mark wax on the bottle, cool day of the dead type label art makes it jump off the shelf. The first drink of this knocks you back, mostly hops but somewhat alcohol. I suggest a short glass because you won’t be drinking it as quickly as you are used to. Gets a bonus for being 10%, some more for marketing creativity, and a couple more points because it made me look up all the old ska songs I love so much. Mickey Mouse in Moscow!
