COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Lacking nothing, at ten percent alcohol by volume and 95 International Bitterness Units, the Decadent truly represents all that is self indulgent when it comes to drinking beer.

Bottle. Pours clear copper with a medium sized white head. The aroma has a nice citrus but not complex. The taste is sweet with a strange bitterness. Far too syrupy.

Bottle from Kihoskh. Hazy orange with an off-white head. Aroma is sweet, malty, caramel and moderate hoppy - grapefruit. Flavor is quite sweet and rather bitter. Dry and rather bitter finish with an alcohol presence. 280215

Bottle from Toft Vin, CPH - semi fuzzy amber pour with good sized head. Big malty and hoppy aroma and taste, dank hop resinous, tangerine, lemon, grapefruit, lots of pine, lovely stuff.

22oz bottle. Cloudy pale orange pour, small head. Malty mango nose. Up front sweet malts that overpower the bitterness. The burn from high alcohol shows up. Tropical hop flavors. Big beer and well made, but atoo sweet for my taste.

ciaranc (1102) - Dublin, IRELAND - DEC 27, 2014
Bottle from Drinkstore. Clear orange amber, very little head. Fairly muted nose, some caramel, citrus, orange. Flavour is sweet sugary caramel backed by moderate bitterness from the hops. Little carbonation leaves it feeling a little gloopy. Bitter in the finish. No sign of the big abv. Opens up a bit as it warms. Ok.

Bomber, 10 weeks old, in Dublin - pleasant surprise. Amber orange pour, little white head. Aroma is boozy orange, grapefruit and pine, caramel in there too. Taste gives good pine sap, nice pithy zesty orange and grapefruit bitterness. Bit of crunchy, slightly heavy caramel malt. But then pine takes over again. Sticky and boozy. But decent. I like this. But really boozy. Blood orange and some spices come in. I can understand some of the lower ratings here - I imagine in a couple of months time, this bottle will be a total boozy maltbomb. But fresh(ish) it’s really tasty. A beast, but one I was happy with. Irish Ratebeerians if you’re reading - go buy and drink this now, don’t bother waiting.

22 oz bottle waxed picked up in Asheville from backlog notes. Pours a hazy amber color with a medium sized off white head. The aroma and flavor have sweet caramel malts, grapefruit citrus, some resiny hops, sweetness is bigger than I would expect but probably kept the alcohol down, bitterness was mild to moderate, decent.

Idiosynkrasie (4923) - Bielefeld, GERMANY - OCT 15, 2014
650ml bottle. Cloudy, orangey, dark golden colour with late awakening, average to huge, thick, frothy to creamy, fairly lasting, minimally lacing, off-white head. Minimally perfumed and soapy, fruity and bitter hoppy aroma, apricot, peach, almond, biscuit. Taste is moderately sweet malty, hints of sugar powder, biscuit, almond, biting hop bitterness. Not in the sense "decadent" and flamboyant like Jean Floressas Des Esseintes’ lifestyle, rather cloddish, inflated, heavy weight without refinement.

I had this at Global Brew. Pours orangish with a white head. Taste sweet, citrus, pine. I thought this was good. I would drink this again. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
