3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
I guess I was expecting a bit more with the wax on the bottle. A nice fizzy feel and the alcohol is not a particularly strong taste. Flavor was ok, but just not anything special.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Foggy amber w no head. Aroma is very floral with alcohol, caramel, and hops. Taste is a caramel sweetness, with hops and light alcohol warming.

3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Poured nice amber with only a small non-lingering head. Something seemed a little out-of-balance. Hops tasted a little strange, but not enough to keep me away from the beer.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
UPDATED: JAN 17, 2008 From the bottle at the Maproom. Had never seen a Ska beer before. This was a not very good version of the style, but I still enjoyed it. Hop flavor was a little harsh. Lacked desired complexity.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: MAY 5, 2007 Bottle. I like the bottle design with the wax melted on it. The aroma was mostly of citrus hops / grapefruit. The flavor was the same, pretty tasty, but not as complex or full bodied as expected.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
The bottle got me extremely hyped for this beer as I thought it looked real cool. Opaque orange. More malt in this beer than anything else. Too sweet for a IIPA, but not bad by any means.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle, from Raleigh Whole Foods. I got a nice sweet aroma when cold that turned bitter citrus as it warmed. Orange marmalade, grapefruit, little sugary pine scent. Clean orangy brown color, small beige head that stayed a while, good lace. Bitter flavor, though not overwhelming. Mainly grapefruit, little detergenty. Medium body, creamy oily mouthfeel, bitter dry finish. Decadent, no! above average maybe. Average more like it. As I’m drinking it I’m having a hard time coming up with words for this beer and I think that says more than I can say.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
This is a mild-mannered and very drinkable DIPA which is light, citrusy, and very drinkable.
It pours a dull (not sparkling) hazy orange with good head formation; uniform bubbles that weren’t too large, tightly packed, with great staying power.
Aroma was lightly citrusy and appealing.
Taste is crisp and clean, with a light citrus taste and a good amount of straight dry hop bitterness.
Mouthfeel is lightly sticky for a DIPA, which I thought very unusual and good.
I thought this beer quite drinkable for DIPA.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pretty good. Not the greatest DIPA, but certainly drinkable. Pretty hot, but shit, we’re talking 10% here, so I expect it. If this were a local, I’d drink it often if the price were reasonable. Awesome label.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours deep amber with a decent head. This tasted more barleywine-like than IIPA. Big malt and mellowing hops. Sharp alcohol on the finish.
