Lacking nothing, at ten percent alcohol by volume and 95 International Bitterness Units, the Decadent truly represents all that is self indulgent when it comes to drinking beer.

The bottle got me extremely hyped for this beer as I thought it looked real cool. Opaque orange. More malt in this beer than anything else. Too sweet for a IIPA, but not bad by any means.

Pours a dark golden color almost orange with white head. Pine, citrus, and some grass on the nose; follows onto the palate. Finishes very bitter and with a bite.

Looks refreshing, noticeably lighter than most DIPA’s I have tried with a big white foamy cap. Aroma is more malty than hoppy with some honey undertones, grass and light pine. Aroma was a little faint; I could have used a little more. Taste is surprisingly light, sweet malt up front with some hops making an appearance next and in the aftertaste. Very drinkable for 10%. Great for a warm day; I recommend it especially because of the reasonable price. It comes in an impressive, expensive looking bottle to boot.

On tap poured an orange hue w/ a creamy diminishing head. Medium malty aromas. Initial flavor is bold sweet and bold bitter finish. Tastes are malts and sweet citrus. Full bodied and boozy finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Not sure of bottle age. Picked it up at Peabody’s last week in Blowing Rock, NC. Pours clear gold with quarter inch white head. "Sweet" aroma - stone fruits, roses, very nice. Taste is sweet caramel malt...not quite to brown sugar, but a butterscotch type characteristic. Really overpowers the hops here. Some lingering and noticeable hop characteristic on the finish. All in all, very interesting.

On March 15, 2014. Thanks to RobertGBG and thomat! Bottle 650 ml. BB Aug 2011.
Though this is very old, especially for a DIPA, it turns to more of a sort of hoppy Barley Wine with this kind of age to it. Hence I do not feel bad about rating an old bottle, giving if for me very decent score too. Though I have not had this beer fresh, I feel almost certain I enjoyed this beer better with age than I would have a fresh one, given my preference for less bitter beers, and feeling how this tasted with age to it. Barley Wine style > DIPA.
Slight bit hazy copper color, small off-white head. Sweet, bitter almond, hoppy scent. Sweet, caramel, hoppy, bitter taste. Medium to smooth mouthfeel, medium high bitterness.Marmelade and jam, nice.

Bomber from a bottle shop in NC. Good looking beer - amber orange with a thick offwhite head that dissipates down to a thin cap. Aroma is caramel malt, fruity and earthy. The taste is mildly sweet and not all that bitter for a DIPA. The taste is very malty with the fruit shining through as well. Body is medium full and texture is somewhat oily. Overall, a decent beer, but very malt forward; more so than what I’m looking for in a DIPA.
