22oz Bomber - Pours a burning ruby red with a steady flow of fine bubbles complete with an off white head. The nose is delightfully complex with notes of eucalyptus, raspberries, vanilla, oak and just the slightest scent of anise. The taste is tart at first but relatively dry with a pleasant finish. Flavors of cherries, lemon, vanilla and bourbon coat the tongue and linger in the throat. A well balanced and delicious brew.

Double waxed dipped bomber pours hazy amber with a khaki head. Aroma has wonderfully inviting aroma of berries, citrus, floral, and mellow bourbon. Taste is fresh and lively with flavors of fruits, caramel, citrus, nice pine aftertaste with mellow bourbon and oak lingering on the palate. Solid, really enjoyed this one.

Tough as a nut to crack open; double wax dipped is really hard to pry open with a mediocre bottle opener. But the work is well with the reward. I was first greeted with sublime pine resin aromas, apricot, and noticed behind it some sweet bourbon, as well as the combined deliciousness of every flavor of Tropical Starburst and normal Starburst. Perhaps a hint of vanilla as well. Smells sweet an candy-like yet hoppy and complex. The appearance is deep woody orange, with darker ruby tones. A tan head caps it off, lasts a real long time, and leaves moderate lacing. The taste is very tart, but is bitter enough in hops to not pucker your mouth. The flavor profile has all kinds of insane things going on inside; lemon juice, orange rind, apricot, vanilla, sweet bourbon, pine resin, pineapple, mango, and a faint faint touch of woodiness. It is quite bitter though, and the finish is drier than I’d like considering the nose and flavor profile. The mouthfeel is very smooth yet hidden inside is lively and prickly carbonation. In all, this is a fantastic, well crafted, unique, and overall outstanding beer particularly in the realm of barrel aged beers. Do yourself the favor of buying yourself one if you ever find it.

Bomber poured a clear reddish amber with a lasting amber head. Aromas of bourbon, fruittiness, oak, vanilla and light carmel. Palate was light bodied and crisp with a dry finish. Flavors of bourbon, oak, fruittiness and carmel with a crisp dry lingering bourbon finish.

Bomber from Ace in Boulder, CA. Pours hazy dark amber with an off-white/beige head. Getting lots of hop aroma and arguably some bourbon. Maybe a little smoke? Full bodied with feisty carbonation. Flavor starts with a lot of citrus/ hop and some mild roast malt, then some oak and bourbon? come out, and it seems to be grapefruit rind towards the end. Nice nose; nice melange of flavors. Very nice beer. Bitter and flavorful.

Bottle thanks to the ever generous Scott! Poured a hazy amber with a gray head that lasted throughout the beer. Aroma had a nice tropical fruit note that combined with citrus and bourbon/oak and a nice grain backbone. Flavor was slightly more basic with a traditional pine flavor backed by the grains. There were subtle notes of bourbon, citrus and tropical fruits.
