Bottle at VilleValla Pub. Almost clear copper liquid with small to medium off-white head. Aroma of pine, mango, bourbon, wood, vanilla, pineapple and light booze. Taste is light sweet and light to medium bitter with notes of pineapple, wood, light bourbon and toffee. Medium bodied with low to medium carbonation. Decent beer but pretty pointless. Why would you put an APA in a bourbon barrel?

Double waxed, it must be good! Purchased for the lols and because it sounded interesting. Pours a nice slightly dark amber color with a slight off-white head. Nice hoppy nose with slight bourbon and oak notes to it. Nice taste, subtle bourbon in the finish. Some odd bitterness in the finish. Less hoppy in the taste.

Appropriately in celebration of my thirtieth birthday. Apparently this pale ale has aged as gracefully as I have! Actually, it’s pretty good. Oaky vanilla nose with a woodsy forestry hop flavor and a stale worthers original candy and old wooden spoon aftertaste. Surprisingly drinkable actually.

Aged PA -- who would’ve thunk? And oddly enough, it totally works. This is a pale ale, with the flavor on steroids. Good stuff.

Bomber, 2014 release. Light citrus, hop aroma with bourbon notes including vanilla and oak. Pours amber colored with a thin off-white head with good retention and decent lacing. Starts light bodied with similar aspects to a pale ale and includes citrus and hops flavors. Finishes slightly dry, but smooth with the vanilla and oak character coming through and lingering on the palate with a touch of hop bitterness. Interesting, well-executed version of a pale.

22oz. bottle. Pale tan pour. Fruity orange citrus nose with some acetone in the background. Sweet malty flavors. Fruit and bitter mix, the bourbon is in the background. Some dryness in the finish. Fun beer, but pricey.

22 oz bottle. Pours hazy reddish amber with a small creamy off-white head that goes to a thin film and leaves some lacing.

The aroma is sweet fruity alcohol.

The flavor is sweet sugary caramel malts with some resiny hops and light bourbon alcohol. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with low carbonation.

Overall, not much bourbon and an odd mix with the pale ale.

On tap at SKA tasting room. The nose is pleasant with notes of hops, caramel, malts and a tiny bit of bourbon. The initial taste is a nice blend of brown ale and hops, finished with a hint of bourbon aftertaste. Overall a decent beer but was hoping for more. Aging a bomber may bring out more bourbon and brown sugar.

(bottle 10/10/10). Cloudy brown color. Large off white head. Moderate citrus aroma, with light oak. Same flavor, with light bourbon and oak. Avg duration. Light dry finish. Slick texture. Moderate carbonation. Good lacing.

On tap at the AZ Strong Beer Fest, February 2011. Pours a hazy dark gold/light amber with a small off-white head. The nose is citrus hops, caramel, vanilla and bourbon. The taste is grapefruit, caramel, bourbon and pine. Medium mouthfeel. Unique brew.
