3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
12 oz. can to pint glass, very dark black pour with a couple fingers worth of tan/mocha head. Really interesting nose, I really get the oak, wine, and heavy roast of a stout. Mouthfeel comes across a little watery but the flavors are also very interesting, the oaking and malbec grape juice give it an almost sour finish but the level of roast balances it out. I really like this, I would like it more if it had a little depth in the body. Still and interesting and nice take on this style.

3.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Poured very nice in my tulip glass. Very nice lacing throughout the entire beer. I think the body is a little light but nice. Very nice aroma of prunes, dark chocolate and licorice. Finishes very nice. I wish I didn't have to go all the way to Chicago to get this! Very nice!

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
12oz can purchased for $2 I think, made sure to buy a single because I bought a sixer of the last cocoa stout ska did and was unhappy. Dark black color, nice head, good stout appearance. nice roasted stout smell, sort of rich, nice. Flavor was more rich stout, hints of cocoa, not a trace of grapes that my palate could detect. I could also not detect any oak but I wasnít let down because it was still a tasty stout.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
It poured a black color with a dark brown head. The aroma was roasty burnt chocolate malts, with mild coffee, light vanilla and a touch of fruit. The taste was creamy, dark chocolate, some wood, vanilla, with a mild dark fruity and roasty aftertaste. This was very good.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
12 oz can, best by 4/13/13. Pours dark brown black with a medium creamy light brown head that goes to a thin film and leaves some lacing.
The aroma is roasted chocolate malts and some vinous dark fruit.
The flavor is acidic roasted grains, some sweet dark fruits and chocolate, a little oak, and some vinous alcohol leading to a bitter roast finish. The mouthfeel is medium bodied and a little thin and watery.
Overall, an interesting fruity roasty foreign export stout.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
12oz can poured into a Snifter at 39į. Color is black with good carbonation and a small tight brown head. Aroma is roasted, a bit like a mild coffee. It has a medium body with a lighter crisp mouth feel. Flavor of coffee, dark chocolate and oak, backed with a mild bitterness. In the after taste it turns sweet with a fruity wine like taste. Overall its a very interesting Stout with unique flavor palate.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Very tasty. Pours oily and thick, with a slick texture that pours very easily. A minimal, disappearing head. Notes of grape, cranberry, bitter plums, chocolate, and coffee. Very tasty.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Sweet grape aroma followed by a dry roasted/coffee aroma. A tinge of sweetness that drys out with vanilla, plum, and oak.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: MAR 30, 2013 Black body, tight medium khaki head with a few peninsulas of lace; chocolatey earth, light coffee, grape accents, creamy oak tying everything together; smooth medium body with more carbonation than I like in a stout, but a nice creamy, bitter finish; grape juice notes grow as this warms initially, then thankfully die down as it makes the trek towards room temp - juice notes are an interesting touch, but definitely best in a supporting role; good value at 7.99/6pk

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
10 ounce draft. Aroma was a wood and blueberry mix, bordering on potpourri. Appearance was black, tan foam that disappeared after a short time, thin and liquidy. Taste was an interesting blend of wood, berries
in a mixed fruit cup, and chocolate. Moderate sweetness. Palate was considerably light and uncarbonated. Overall, the unusual spin this one took on the traditional stout kept me interested. Itís not something Iíd go out of my way to hunt down, but it sits in the B+ range, the "worth a try" category.
