Itís hard to believe that the consistent Modus Hoperandi clocks in at a steaming 6.8%. An incredibly well balanced modern IPA (hops well and truly to the front, but with some malt coming through, delivering its high drinkability), I always try to keep a couple of cans in the fridge, but, more often than not, I just neck the lot as itís deceptively sessionable.

12 oz. can from backlog notes. Pours a clear deep amber color with a small beige head that tries to hang around. The aroma had resiny hops, caramel malts, grapefruit citrus, mild floral notes, tea, with light spice. The flavor had pine resin, floral hops, grapefruit citrus, caramel malts, lightly toasted bread and a splash of tea. Medium light bodied, mild to moderate bitterness, decent IPA.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pors a clear dark orange body with a frothy white head that leaves lacing on the glass. Nose has intense hoppy notes of grapefruit, resin, pine needles, as well as some sweet caramel. Taste is quite makty and sweet but the hops take over and lead to a lingering, bitter finish. Carbonation is on the soft side and palate is rich and syrupy but not cloying. Excellent and well balanced IPA that is on the malty side.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Can @ Mr.Orla meets Shaun Hill, Odense. Pre C4 Pale Ale Festival, 2015. Pours cloudy Copper with a small egg white head. Caramel, crackers and bread - the hops fled the scene. Vague peach. Fine amber ale is what this has become!
