It’s Old Man Bitter

A mix of citrus and pine that will remind you of the time you went on a vision quest with your Native American cousin and you woke up in a pine grove full of grapefruit trees.

An American-style India Pale Ale with a deep golden-orange color. Bitter and hoppy, with a surprisingly smooth finish.

Modus Hoperandi, an IPA sitting at 6.8% ABV and 65 IBUs.

Can at Shuga’s. Tastes like nutty malt, hop resin, pine hops, and some grapefruit. Light/medium body and low carbonation. Smells like strong pine and light grapefruit hops

Tap at Falling rock. Copper color and a very thick, lacing head. Bitterr, some pine. Not much fruit at all but more malt than many others. Good beer.

Everybody is drinking cans of this wonderful IPA, and I found what might be the only bottle in the world, along with the other one I got I guess. Oh well, I’m one of THOSE who doesn’t see the real difference, besides the fact that drinking a beer straight out of a can both looks cool, and straight up is cool. 12 oz bottle poured. Purchased at Mollys in Denver. Thanks me!! Pours a reddish copper color with a lasting sticky foam head and lacing. This IPA is cool. This IPA starts the mosh pit. Creamy body with a semi rich citrus aroma and flavor. If an IPA is highlighted with a big grapefruit quality, then I’m for it. This has got the weight I need. This IPA is so badass that if I could, I’d buy it a beer. This is all the stupid shit I come up with when I am lost in enjoyment of a beer that I am drinking. One of the best IPAs I’ve ever had.

Keg at Euston Tap, London. Hazy amber shade. Thin head. Hops come through dank, earthy, jammy. Lots of hedgerow fruits. There’s almost a dash of old world English bitter to this. Kiss of sweetness before a long bitterness. I really like how unique this seems compared to most modern IPAs.

Tap. Nice dark brown-gold pour, with hint of white head. Chewy breadiness, plenty of spruce-y hops. Some bite in the finish, but also quite smooth. Little hint of the extra alcoholic bite. This is the kind of beer that’s dangerous in how drinkable it is.

Texture huileuse. Finale résineuse moins intéressante. Canette de 355 ml.

Draught at The Brewery Bar, Camden Town Brewery on 19-Aug-2015. Guest-tap. Clear orange amber colour with a small off-white head which quickly dissipates. Medium body and carbonation. Aroma of sweet malt, pine, resin, orange and pineapple. Tropical fruit flavour, lots of hops with a bitter finish. The sweetness becomes more noticeable as you move down the glass, but the bitterness provides a nice counterbalance. A very good IPA.
