| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Oct 3, 2009 A nice looking brew with an apple cider appearance and a smallish tan head. Aroma is citrus with a small amount of caramel. Flavor is also tart citrus and that flavor echoes on the palate. Some pine hop notes settle in a bit later as does some sweeter citrus. Lots of bitterness here, too. A pleasant and creamy feel in the mouth. Much better than their Decadent Imperial IPA. The best word I have for this beer is "alive." Lip up fatty! Pours a nice medium amber hue, forming decent off white head of foam. Aroma evident of tropical fruits, hops, malts and ocean water. Flavour much of the same, grapefruit explosion, as hops come in to hammer. Well balanced, tastey as heavy mouthfeel dominates. Most superb IPA beer, I want more. nickd717 (1415), Palo Alto, California, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 2, 2009 On tap at Falling Rock in Denver. Pours a deep clear amber color with a thick and creamy white head that lasts. Aroma is caramel malt, earth, cannabis, and citrusy hops. Flavor is caramel malt balanced by citrusy/weedy/piney hops. A little pine as well. The sweet/bitter balance is at a perfect level. Palate is medium with average carbonation and some nice hop oils. Well-crafted. boFNjackson (1329), Portland, Oregon, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Sep 30, 2009 Can... Poured a deep, orange with a thick, white head that retained nicely. Aroma of twigs and dirty earthy qualities with a big amount of hops. I nice tangy citrus character in the flavors with a great malt balance and a black pepper accent to the hoppy bitterness. A solid IPA with a nice bite and even better balance. angrypirate06 (803), Texas, USA

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 28, 2009 Big thanks to kiefdog for sharing a bottle of this modusly good brew. Pours clear deep gold with thin off white head. The aroma is full with pine and grapefruit along with sweetness far off in the background. The taste is fruity with sweetened grapefruit and tangelo and then moving into a citrus candy like note. The malt sweetness is subtle and a bit slick at times. This brew carries plenty of yummy hop flavor and bitterness. Nice! Solid IPA. jstraw (778), Chicago, Illinois, USA
