3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Gregis (1270) - Shawnee, Kansas, USA - APR 11, 2010
Pours a hazy copper with two fingers of beige head that leaves behind cascading lace. The nose is a simple but pleasant blend of grapefruity hop and caramel malt notes with just a touch of candy sugar sweetness thrown into the mix. Fairly light-bodied and slightly grainy with a lingering bitter finish. The flavor follows the nose with a solid caramel/pale malt base backed by a complimentary punch of grapefruity citric And spicy hops bringing on the bitterness one looks for in an IPA. If you’re craving a hop fix in-a-can, you could do a lot worse than this one.

can on 4/7/10... pours a deep orange with a thick fluffy pillow head... big floral nose right out of the can... medium body with a generous hopping, smooth floral notes with a light malt undertone.... some fresh piney hop leaf notes as well... solid bitter finish - a really nice IPA for the hop heads.

Dark caramel red, off white head. Aroma is pure pine hops and caramel. Taste is caramel, biting pine bitter.

This poured a bright orange color with a white head. Aroma was a good bit of citrusy hops with a light mellow malt aroma. Flavor was a good bit of hops, not bitter but great hop taste, balanced with a good amount of malt. Nothing amazing, but a pretty damn good IPA.
3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 HalfCockedJack (16) - Texas, USA - APR 7, 2010
Aroma- Strong Citrus//Pine Air Freshener
Appearance- Cloudy amber, very little head
Taste- Medium sweetness, strong grapefruit, strong metallic flavor,
dish soap
Palate- Medium body, slightly oily hops residue, unpleasant metallic
bitterness as an aftertaste
Overall- I had heard many good things about this beer, but it did not
live up to the hype. It follows in the path of the belief that
American IPAs have to be hop monsters, so it has a lot of
hops. But it falls into the trap of not being able to balance
the hops and malt, or to make them harmonious. Rather, the
hops come off loud and bright. Not bad, just not great.
4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 cfrancis (1766) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - MAR 28, 2010
Got this in a great BIF package. Interesting seeing a canned IPA, pours a brownish gold with a small white head with good lacing. Aroma is hop and resins. Taste is a great balance, smooth hop bitterness and malt. Truly a very nice IPA that I would have anytime. Don’t let the can fool you.

Can-pours copper hue with a soapy off-white head. nose is piney, earthy and somewhat dirty-chinook? however, this years chinook crop smelled fantastic! some metallic notes as well-from the can im guessing. flavors exhibit bit dirty hops, metallic notes and a sweet malt backbone. tehre is alot of good qualities about this beer, but it doesnt come together all that well-somewhat messy. long resinous finish. body is kind of thin, but not bad. decent and would like to try fresh on tap sometime.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 esjaygee (3209) - Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA - MAR 26, 2010
Mildly hazed amber with a rocky taupe head leaving some lace as it slowly fades away. Aroma of pine, resinous and floral hops, caramel and orange. Taste of floral and resinous hops balanced out nicely by the sweet malt. Mild vegetation sneaks in, but not too much of a hinderance. Finishes up resinous and bitter, they sure can can their IPA’s in Colorado!

12oz can into a Sam Adams perfect pint. Light amber color with small white head. You can really smell the grapefruit in this brew but it comes with hints of aluminum. Smooth mouth feel. Taste of sweet grass. A lil’ unbalanced but overall not bad.

UPDATED: MAY 30, 2010 can. Pours a cloudy, dark amber with an off-white head. Nose is of pine and citrus. Taste is of citrus balanced by sweet malt. Mouthfeel is very bitter. Surprised that it was better than expected. This has become my go-to IPA.
