4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 20/20
UPDATED: JUN 22, 2012 Copper color with off-white head and excellent lacing. Super floral-hoppy aroma and taste. This beer is maybe one of the best rounded beers I have ever had, and had become my "go-to"; pours amazingly, full aroma, balanced middle aroma (full-bodied, without being too much so), great tastes, good amount of alcohol (more than 6%, not too much), comes in a six pack and at a great price point. A great IPA, you would be hard-pressed to find a better combo of qualities.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Poured out of can into pint glass, nice orange-amber color with beautiful fluffy white head, laced extremely well throughout. Aroma is big juicy notes of pine, citrus, grass, even more citrus, with slight notes of caramel, touch of bread. Taste is full of orange, grapefruit, some slight tropical fruit, lemon, nice big resinous and piny notes, going into a slightly sweet section with some caramel and spice notes, finishing bitter but not overwhelmingly so, and slightly dry. Great stuff.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Can via trade. Poured into a Duvel tulip. Amber/orange pour with some haze and a creamy off white thick head. Aroma is a little malt forward with some slight citrus. Tastes malt then quickly to resinious hoppy goodness and then back for some more balanced malt/pine flavor. Not a bad IPA but nothing to make me think about getting this one again. Still very nice to see a can that has some nice hops in there. Starting to think cans really preserve the hops better over time.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a soft clean copper with two fingers of sticky off white head. Nose is fine, grassy with some citrus rind and a floral/spicy character. Bit of a green bite here, kind of astringent. Citrus pith and fresh cut grass and some bready malt. Bleh.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Can poured into a pint glass. Citrusy aroma with a hint of earthiness. Deep copper color. Very appealing appearance. Small off-white head. Earthy/floral tastes. Lingering bitterness. Medium carbonation. Almost feels slippery or oily. Overall a very good beer. A quality IPA out of a can and great to take on the run when you need a hop fix.

2012-10-10, can, 8-5-7-5-16=42
Hazy amber color with medium sized creamy head. The aroma has a clear and appreciated character of hop resins and some tropical fruits;light talc; later, some manure. The mouthfeel is lean; good caramel flavor, some toffee; strong hopping, resiny and fruity; long final.
Powerful, balanced, very drinkable. Fresh. Excellent.

Hazy amber color; small sized creamy head. The hop aroma is earthy, grassy, fat, with resins, manure, sweat and only mild fruits (apricots); also very light chemicals (phenol?). The mouthfeel is very dry; caramel and toffee flavor, with strong bitterness; the hop leaves a balanced mix of grass, resins and fruits; long final. Quite solid, and powerful.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Nicely done. A great blend of citrus (grapefruit, mostly), floral, hops and malt. Very refreshing, even with the higher ABV.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Can into tulip glass. Nice white head that stays on top of the shiny, bronze brew all the way. An oily IPA in appearance, taste, and finishes. That leads to a somewhat flat mouthfeel, more like some big barleywines. Other than the texture, it’s a nice, solidly aggressive IPA with earthy, grassy hops and a long, bitter finish. Seems stronger than it is.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
Can. Best by date of 12/01/11 - this being only 6/21/11 I wouldn’t want to hold onto it unitl December but meh what do I know. Poured into a tulip glass dark copper color with a 1 finger light tan head that settles down at a medium pace. Not overly fruity aroma but definite notes of grapefruit/orange. Some floral type notes as well. Medium mouthfeel. Grapefruit, metallic, and then a building bitterness that seems to get fairly bitter. Lingering bitterness. This IPA just didn’t fit well with me. IMO not very balanced and had some off flavors both in the nose and the taste. Minimal lace.
