It’s Old Man Bitter

A mix of citrus and pine that will remind you of the time you went on a vision quest with your Native American cousin and you woke up in a pine grove full of grapefruit trees.

An American-style India Pale Ale with a deep golden-orange color. Bitter and hoppy, with a surprisingly smooth finish.

Modus Hoperandi, an IPA sitting at 6.8% ABV and 65 IBUs.

Acquired this in a trade. Bottled on 12/09/11 Poured into a duvel glass. A - half a finger head. Dark amber beer. Hazy with lots of cloudiness. S - totally hoppy. Intense pine scent with some grapefruit and melon scents as well. T - standard double IPA taste but the hops are really weak. Probably should be fresher before I rate. M - Tons of carbonation. Easy to drink! O - I love canned IPAs. This is probably excellent fresh.

One of the best beers I’ve had from a can for sure. Nice big hop aroma of citrus, oranges and mandarin. Has good bitterness, but all in balance. Pretty much classic US IPA.

Hoppy citrus aroma not too strong. Appearance is clear orange tint. Sweet hop taste then very biter quickly on the palate. Overall not bad for a canned ipa.

Pours a rich mahogany color. Aromas of centennial hops blast you in the face. Grapefruit, grassy, sugary. Pleasant. Initial taste is smooth, slightly bitter with a nice sweet hoppy, earthy taste. Finishes with a pepper/sugar lingering flavor. Has a tad of an oily mouthfeel but overall a pretty decent IPA.

12oz can. Rating #501. Dark and clear orangish/amber color with a nice white head that left some good lacing. Nice sweet graiefruit aroma, slight tropical aroma as well, very nice. Sweet citrus, nice flavor really, a little more tropical, above average bitterness. Good stuff. (2141)

Can @ BAJT on January 14. Pours hazy apricot with a creamy white head that leaves lots of trace on the glass while dissipating. smell is malty sweet with peaches, pine, resin, grass and gooseberries. Taste is malty sweet and bitter with wood, pine, grapefruit and unripe peaches. Mouthfeel is slightly sticky and oily. Finish is sweet, bitter and fruity. Very refreshing.

Beautiful aroma. Great hop/body balance. Bitterness sits on the toungue for just the right amount of time. This may be a perfect beer. How is that possible, it came in a can?

Can courtesy of scray24, poured into a pint glass. Brownish color with a lacy off-white head. Aroma of grass clippings, lychee, and bread, heavy on the malt overall. Flavor is similar, malt-forward especially with crystal and caramel, and a mild fruitiness. Hops? Please?
