4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Can from Bruisiní Ales. Canned IPA: smart. I actually have just passed on picking this up because I have never been impressed by SKA, even their double IPA was just okay. Brian and Bruisiní Ales spoke quite highly of Modus Hoperandi and the guy knows his stuff. Right after the pour Iím quite impressed. This is way better than the Decandent IIPA, just by aroma alone. This one is very, very dank with lots of pine and herbs and a sticky, resinous scent. The first thing I think is that I need to buy some cans every time I go back. The palate is spot on, just sticky enough. Great flavor here too. Lots of evergreen and even notes of mint with some smooth caramel-tasting malts. This is absolutely great. It could be the best IPA Iíve had in a can so far.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
12 oz can pours a clear amber with a 1 finger head. Aroma is grapefruity cascade hops, mild pine, and toffee sweetness. Very dank and hop-forward. Body is medium but with enough carbonation to lend it a lightly creamy mouthfeel..just perfect for a session IPA. Flavor is resinous hops, then more hops, then some mild toffee sweetness, then light alcohol burn that infuses itself with a lasting piney bitterness and a dry, dry finish. This is one of my top 3 value priced, go-to, session IPAs alonside New Belgium Ranger and (the best in my opinion) Averyís canned IPA. Great for the summer.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: FEB 14, 2012 I enjoyed this beer very much. Not too much caramel sweetness. Great fresh west coast cascade hope flavor. Finished bitter but not over powering. Well made, however, slightly boring.
Previous was possibly old? You can definitely smell the freshness of this beer. Itís quite amazing actually. Plenty of pine, which seems to be missing from the IPAs I have had lately, which all seem more citrusy. The smell is seriously like smelling a big bag of hops. Taste is fairly bitter throughout. I would have guessed about 80 ibus. Enjoyability 4/5.

UPDATED: JUL 11, 2013 On tap at Trident grill in Tucson
Appearance: Slightly hazy amber with a small white head and good lacing
Aroma: Fruity and caramel
Taste: Fruity, sweet caramel and tangy grapefruit
7/11/13: Picked up a 12oz can at Wilburs to rerate this, and glad I did. Wow, this is great. Aroma if dank hops, grapefruit and pine resin. Flavors of grapefruit, pine resin and bitter
I could drink this everyday. Hoppy, bitter and dank but very drinkable. I love these kinds of IPAís, wish they all were like this.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Thank you for the can Joe. Pours a light orange/caramel with small but frothy off-white head. Aroma is light bitter hops, noticeable resinous pine, and a bit of orange peel. Nice bitterness up front of the taste and the mid-palate goes bit plain (perhaps some light malt and bitterness) before the taste finishes with a somewhat dry, light hop bitterness. Nothing special or standout about this IPA but I could see this being a nice "working in the yard" beer to crack open on a hot day.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Sampled at Brewery Creek U.S. event @ VCBW. Pours from the can a clear dark amber with a huge fluffy white head. Aroma of citrus hops, caramel malt, a hint of pine and sugar. Taste is bitter and smooth. Abundant hops, malt, citrus, slightly sweet, and a bit floral. Lingering creamy bitterness. Very nice.
