Upon first sips and pours, this might be one of my favorite IPAís. Pours a dark copper with a thin head, aroma is hoppy...nice balance of citrus & floral. Taste can be comparable to Bellís Two Hearted, a hint of malt with an abundance of hops and a great finish. Maybe itís the can???

Bottled@Monks Cafť Wallingatan, Stockholm. Amber colour, not much head. Aroma is spruce, fruity hops as well as some grass. Flavour is quite much the same with a quite bitter finish.

Can. Pours a slightly hazy orange color with a small off-white head. Has a malty hoppy bitter grapefruit aroma with hints of pine needles. Malty hoppy bitter grapefruit flavor. Has a fruity malty hoppy bitter finish with a long bitter aftertaste.

Special thanks to my friend JT for obtaining this brew from a fellow friend out in Colorado. Very nice aroma of grapefruit and citrus. I think this may be a bit dated, but yet the hops have not faded much. Very drinkable and quite solid.

An IPA in a can thatís not Surly? From Colorado? Sounds like some pretentious hippie bullshit to me HOWEVER this is a very solid, intriguing basic IPA. Smells weird but Iíll cut it some slack cause I have a cold. Itís pungent enough to break through somewhat, Iíll give it that much. Real nice looking for an IPA, dark-ish and pretty murky, poured with a pretty wild beige head and nice lacing. Mouth is decent, medium body and sort of gritty, again a little out there as IPAs go. Taste is perfectly hopped and dry as hell how I like it. Reminds me of Sierra Nevada Torpedo, not quite as good though. The flavor is very well executed but ultimately pretty simple. I dig this brew for sure.

Bottled at Monkís Cafť Wallingatan, Stockholm. Hazy orange, small head. Aroma of lemon and glue. Dryish and surprisingly light bodied, heavily carbonated. Orange hops dissolved in chlorine and glue, growing resiny bitterness.

Pours a thick looking amber color with a small white head. The nose is mostly citrus and piney hops. The taste is bitter earthy piney hops and some malts to balance it out. Overall itís a good IPA. Itís better than average, especially for something found in a can, but it wonít knock your socks off. A bit too piney for me.

UPDATED: FEB 7, 2010 Good IPA with an amazing pine aroma. I know itís 7% ABV, but it seems a little too malty for an IPA, and the hops is not quite there for me...and the mouth feel is a tad off.

If pouring Surly brews has taught me anything, itís that CANNED MICROS deserve to be savored FROM THE CAN! I personally donít think it does the brew much justice to be poured if it was originally in aluminum. This goes for Surly, Oskar Blues, AND Ska. + Anyone else with a major canning line. If you have a 6er, pour some, drink some. But otherwise, FUCK the appearance. Leave it where they put it. A - Into glass, piney caramel. Big pine and sweet malt. Can leaves some sugary candy smells. More pine. Pretty damn nice either way. No "10". But good. A - Dark caramel colored amber out of can. Otherwise, for a micro, Iím a sucker for cans. The art is pretty cool. Into glass, leaves a nice rocky off-white foamy head. F - Caramel. Pine. Sweetness. Hops. Maltiness makes a nice play here, as well. Caramel and pale taste. And a lemon/lime presence as far as citrus. P - Leaves a solid bite, period. Nice floral and citrus presence all around. Hell. Even Hopslam is only 70 IBUS. This does a great job. Starts out with a thin, prickly, drinkable malt and citrus character, then slaps the tongue with a dry citrus linger. Drinkable, drinkable, drinkable. O - I will rant, but I will not rave. This is a well done IPA in my books. Exceeds my standards. And Again, Iím a sucker for a can. Although Iím NOT a big Ska fan, their Pinstripe and Ten Pin opened my eyes to the micro world. Me likes.
