It’s Old Man Bitter

A mix of citrus and pine that will remind you of the time you went on a vision quest with your Native American cousin and you woke up in a pine grove full of grapefruit trees.

An American-style India Pale Ale with a deep golden-orange color. Bitter and hoppy, with a surprisingly smooth finish.

Modus Hoperandi, an IPA sitting at 6.8% ABV and 65 IBUs.

A bright sweet tasting IPA in a can! One of the best IPAs I have had the pleasure of trying! A sweet mixture of citrus and malts!

Hard to find a better IPA, especially in a can. Huge on the nose and even better on the way down. There are a lot of great IPA’s out there but few are as sessionable as this one

Pours dark golden colour, with generous white head, and leaving lace. Some hop aromas. Substantial alpha, hop and carbonation burning was my experience. A good hop flavour, however, and good drinkability (next time on a fuller stomach). Fresh, with above average carbonation.

Aroma gets you going as soon as the can opens. Surprisingly balanced with so much hop character. Excellent.

HOPSHUNTER (742) - Tampa, Florida, USA - APR 12, 2010
Can courtesy of jbye4334. Poured a slightly hazy amber with a medium egg shell head. Nose is citrus, pine, earth, and a slight vegetal note. Fairly full body with an oily mouth feel and good carbonation. Strong caramel, pale malt base with some fruity notes of grapefruit and orange zest, also big notes of pine and grass, and a slight herbalness. Finishes with a decent amount of hops bitterness.

Pours a hazy copper with two fingers of beige head that leaves behind cascading lace. The nose is a simple but pleasant blend of grapefruity hop and caramel malt notes with just a touch of candy sugar sweetness thrown into the mix. Fairly light-bodied and slightly grainy with a lingering bitter finish. The flavor follows the nose with a solid caramel/pale malt base backed by a complimentary punch of grapefruity citric And spicy hops bringing on the bitterness one looks for in an IPA. If you’re craving a hop fix in-a-can, you could do a lot worse than this one.

Dark caramel red, off white head. Aroma is pure pine hops and caramel. Taste is caramel, biting pine bitter.
