Itís Old Man Bitter

A mix of citrus and pine that will remind you of the time you went on a vision quest with your Native American cousin and you woke up in a pine grove full of grapefruit trees.

An American-style India Pale Ale with a deep golden-orange color. Bitter and hoppy, with a surprisingly smooth finish.

Modus Hoperandi, an IPA sitting at 6.8% ABV and 65 IBUs.

Golden pour with white head, Aroma of some malts, hay, citrus fruits. Flavor is very hoppy sharp citrus bitterness and lemon. Bittersweet finish, which is good for style.

Pours golden yellow with white head. Nose is caramel, pine sap, honey, and nice sweetness and malt behind the hops. Flavor is almost the same with biting pine and citrus hops. Sharp, yet balanced with a medium body and a nice bite.

Draft at Barleys Brewhaus in KC. Light hazy amber with an off white head that stuck around. Sticky lacing. Pine, grassy, grapefruit, resin and toffee permeates from this pungent nose. Really appetizing. Sticky on the lips and lighter bodied, there was a wheatty richness to the texture. Pleasant bitterness on a fairly long, tasty finish. Well balanced and masterful. Enjoy one.

Pours a light orange with a nice two finger everlasting head. Nice sweet fruit and hay aroma. Dry bitterness on the back of a nice full IPA malt bill without being over sweet.

Thanks to Santa Adam for this. I poured the can into a Sam Adams pint glass and was greeted with a good three finger off white head that just stuck around. The body of the brew was a hazy orange amber in color. I got a ton of hop aromas from this one tons of floral and pine notes. The flavor was bitter and grassy not much in the way of malts showing up in it at all. It was almost oily to the mouth with good carbonation. I could drink a couple of these but I donít know how many more than that due to the bitterness

Clear, brown-amber. Nice, fresh AIPA aroma with caramel, pine and citrus. Crisp, sweet, grapefruity and candied. Medium to slightly heavy body. Grapefruit hoppiness and woody finish. Some off sulphury notes in the aftertaste. Cool tap handle, shades of Madness in the 80ís. On tap, Flying Saucer, KC.

Iím not going to complicate this one because itís just a damn good IPA. It pours a nice amber color with a very frothy head that lingers. The aroma is as good as any beer youíve ever had. The taste is nothing short of fantastic. The right amount of "hop" in the middle that just hangs there and then finishes as smooth as any IPA Iíve had. Thank you again Beertopia. Who would have thought a six pack of cans could taste this good.

Bottle, pours a clear red amber with thick soft off white head, looks great. Aroma, a subtle smokey chardness, with lots of pine. Initial taste malty sweet with huge pine hops, very dry finish, makes the mouth salivate for more. A very good ipa

Clear reddish amber-thick off-white head, Aroma strong with caramel malt, piney hops, herbal, some citrus. resinous piney hop flavor-chewy, slightly rough around the edges, but I like it. medium body, would make a great session beer- good balance of malt, hops, and bitterness, A little different, but good.

THOUGHTS: Another wonderful canned beer. Great balance. Not much to say, itís just a great beer. TECHNICAL: Can. Poured a sparkling, clear, light to medium, orangey amber with a large, off-white head that kept a small head and left excellent lacing. The aroma had moderate caramel; and moderate to heavy grapefruit and orange hops; lighter pine hops and hints of underlying resinous hops. The initial flavor was sweet and light to moderately bitter; while the finish was sweet and rather bitter with a long duration. There was grape fruit, caramel malt, a little pine, orange rind, then a little rubbery and resinous hops at the tail end keeping it from being perfect in my mind. The light to medium body was a bit syrupy and sticky on the lips with fizzy and tingly carbonation and a slightly metallic finish.
