3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours a lightly hazy copper color - soapy, clinging lace - herbal, peppery hops in the nose, with some bright fruitiness and moderate caramel malt base - the flavor has an initial spicy hop kick, followed by medium sweet caramel - this is followed by a very bright, vibrant fruity character, grapefruit tang, a second blast of hops - fairly earthy - pretty tasty.

Clear amber with a fleeting head. Piney hoppy aromas. Medium body. Floral and pine hop twang flavors on a sweet caramel malty base. Nice.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: FEB 28, 2010 First sampled at Flying Saucerís Second Annual Fall Beer Festival in Austin on October 24, 2009. Let me first say that I love the head on this beer... itís frothy and billowy with an off-white color and holey lacing much like the surface of a pancake on the burner. It has an impressive clear, dark orange color with an almost red hue. Wow, what a dense head. A mild (yet almost held-back) aroma of hops. The type of hops used initially unidentifiable to me on first smell. The flavor is good, but light. I expected more. Still, a goodly IPA with a clean finish. Thereís nothing offensive about this beer. The hops gradually present themselves over time. Bold, yet tame with a moderate hop finish. Again, good, but Iíd personally probably grab something else with a little more of a pronounced hop presence than be teased by this beer.

12oz Can, Pours darkish gold, big resin hop aroma, Columbus, Amarillo hop profile, a bit skunky in a good way, garlic notes as well. Hops up front in the flavor with a decent malt backbone to support the hops. Nice job! Iíve had this in the bottle before and cans seem much brighter and fresher. $9.99/6pk at Hops & Vines, Asheville, NC.

12 oz. can from Samís Quik Shop in Durham. Dark orange pour with a creamy off-white head. Aroma of pine, tangerines, and pineapple. Bitter hop flavor of grapefruit rind, pine, and fresh cut grass. Clean but bitter aftertaste. This is actually quite good and a very pleasant surprise. An excellent IPA.

Tap at Falling Rock. Dark amber. Almost copper coloured. Light foamy head. Light hop scent. Lighter than expected. Hops are intriguing but there is fruit and vegetable flavour with a bit of green grain.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
A nice looking brew with an apple cider appearance and a smallish tan head. Aroma is citrus with a small amount of caramel. Flavor is also tart citrus and that flavor echoes on the palate. Some pine hop notes settle in a bit later as does some sweeter citrus. Lots of bitterness here, too. A pleasant and creamy feel in the mouth. Much better than their Decadent Imperial IPA. The best word I have for this beer is "alive." Lip up fatty!

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
12 o bottle compliments of Doboy (thanks Ed). Pours a nice medium amber hue, forming decent off white head of foam. Aroma evident of tropical fruits, hops, malts and ocean water. Flavour much of the same, grapefruit explosion, as hops come in to hammer. Well balanced, tastey as heavy mouthfeel dominates. Most superb IPA beer, I want more.
