It’s Old Man Bitter

A mix of citrus and pine that will remind you of the time you went on a vision quest with your Native American cousin and you woke up in a pine grove full of grapefruit trees.

An American-style India Pale Ale with a deep golden-orange color. Bitter and hoppy, with a surprisingly smooth finish.

Modus Hoperandi, an IPA sitting at 6.8% ABV and 65 IBUs.

Dark, thin head, very over hopped just like in India Pale Ale should be. Perfect example of an IPA that made of long voyage across the sea. I I love that it comes in a can

Furu og sitrusaroma. Flott farge. Skummet falt fort. Fin bitterhet fra sitrushumler. En god ipa.

Orangebrun klar med beige høyt kremete skum. Grape, humle, annanas og noe karamellukt. Flott bitter humle og granbarsmak, skulle gjerne hatt mer sødme i smaken. medium kullsyre

33cl can. Pours golden amber with perfect amount of head. Aroma is fresh citrus and taste is hoppy with grape fruit. Very well balanced. Great can of beer.

Can: Slightly cloudy orange-amber color, more dense in the center with a chunky, brittle ecru cap that settles pretty quickly. Aroma has a lovely fruity hop presence. Candied grapefruit, lots of gushing orange flesh, hints of perfume, mild resinous pine, a modest grassy presence & a solidifying backbone of sweet, toasted, borderline-caramel malt. Taste is a big clashing of almost equal parts hops & malt. Grapefruit rind, orange peel, bitter pine needles, floral perfume, & wet grass from the hops. Semisweet caramel, mild nuttiness, & toasted bread from the malt. Bitter up front, finishing more with a blend of sweetness & lingering pine, with just a hint of vanishing orange rind. Mouth feel a little thicker than expected for a 6.8% IPA. Overall, quite nice. Pretty unique, too. I normally don’t like sweeter IPAs, but this one doesn’t go overboard, & it’s balanced nicely by a tasty hop profile.

UPDATED: JUL 31, 2014 Good hoppy IPA. not too pushy, but intense. Good ballanced, too much carbonation but I liked it. Good quality brew.

Can. Clear copper orange with a foamy off white head that lasts and laces. Aromas of grapefruit, caramel, biscuit, and light pine. Flavor is grapefruit, orange, pine, and light caramel. Medium bodied, dry and bitter finish.

Great brew! Strong maltiness in background, bit caramel and bomb of pleasant citrus hops, grapefruit and awesome peach, light grassy and piney. Quite sweet with perfect hop bitterness for me. Smooth. Again - awesome thirst quencher combined with qualities of huge beer.

Can. Deep copper with a beautiful off white head. Huge pine west coast nose. Herbal as it warms. Sticky lacing throughout. Medium body and low warmth. Balanced with a caramel maltiness. Loads of grapefruit, leafy greens and pine battle for supremacy. Easy drinker.

Pours clear amber with orange notes, with good, thick top and lasing. Aroma is pleasant mix of citrus, spruce and grassy hops, sweet but lacks intensity to be great beer. Taste is light sweet with medium to heavy hops bitter, leaving long lasting resiny bitter aftertaste. Huge body and thickness for PA, flavor seems intense malty and hoppy although not too sweet, interesting. Light to none dry finish. Liked. Could compare with canned version.
