Light copper, thin head with scant lace. Nose is roasted malt and pine. Bitter. Middle is chewy, crusty bread with lovely hop jam. Tongue is lit up with hop spiciness out the back. The bitterness just keeps building with this one (in a good way).
4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20 VintageViking (20) - - JUN 17, 2013
Cans (yes I had more than one!), from The Local Pub in Athens. Everything a Western American IPA should be. Pours a gorgeous amber, with a long-lasting largish white head. Smells and tastes of hops, pine, grapefruit, and then some more hops. And a bit more pine. Lots of body: lovely on the palate. Hadn’t realised it was almost 7%. Ooops!

Poured from a bottle, golden color with good white head. Looks nice. Aroma of some citrus, but predominately pine, and the taste follows: bitter and piney. Bitter aftertaste.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20 scotchzombie (23) - - JUN 8, 2013
Pours with a soft and fluffy yellowish white head. Smells like a sweet roll in the hops under long-leaf pines. Smooth and creamy on the palate and the hops take over on the back end. Slight pine with a touch of dry bitter aftertaste. A very fine IPA indeed.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20 dutch23mp (243) - Mount Prospect, Illinois, USA - JUN 7, 2013
The presentation of a dark golden base with a full white head is very impressive. The aroma leaves no doubt that this is a full IPA hints of citrus with a wonderful full but not overly powering hop taste is wonderful. Although I’m coming around to cans, it will still take some time. Outstanding wish i had another to give my son who loves IPA’s, but the only one I have....too bad

From a 12oz can. Aroma is pine, citrus, and sweet caramel. Flavor is pine, citrus, pear, grapefruit, and sweet caramel. The bittering hops are mouth drying ( not a bad thing :)) very solid Ipa.

UPDATED: JUN 5, 2013
Location: Can from Central Market, 6/3/13
Aroma: The nose is clean and hoppy with a nice pine presence, resin, and some grapefruit
Appearance: It pours a clear caramel-orange color with a thick foam of beige head
Flavor: The taste is medium sweet, grapefruit, with a mid-heavy pine/resin bitterness
Palate: The feel is smooth and creamy, with a soft carbonation, and a dry finish
Overall Impression:
Thought this one was a very solid IPA. I don’t believe that I’ve had the pleasure of trying any SKA beers before, but this one was a nice foray into their offerings, and I will surely return.
4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 flying_pig (636) - SCOTLAND - JUN 3, 2013
Can from The Cave, Glasgow (355ml, £3.29):
Pine & floral hops with a strong, tropical fruit aroma that consists of some pineapple, peach and mango; all very refreshing. There is some grapefruit and some subdued malts with a slightly sweet and bitter end.
Bright amber with a nice sized, half centimetre tall head that stays well initially before turnings to a thick looking and solid lacing that is foamy and white looking.
Sweet & tropical fruits to begin with, there is some pine and grapefruit with quite a bit of bitterness. There is some mango and floral flavours with a bit of a kick and some lighter caramel malts. There is also a lot of citrus too.
Medium with a creamy texture with some nice floral notes and plenty of bitterness. The finish is crisp and very dry one yet somehow still seems refreshing.
Great pine and floral hops with some excellent tropical fruit flavours that are strong but not quite overpowering. The bitterness levels are pretty high but the beer remains an easy one to drink and goes down particularly well.
