This full-bodied porter is dark with a nice head. The caramelized malt has a distinct flavor, very nice, and the hops follow in taste, producing a basically balanced flavor profile.

Bottled shared at the Syb Pig on Friday night. Thanks! Snifter pour. Deep brownish-red with a very thin head. Aroma of chocolate, roasted malt, vanilla, some spices, and coffee. The taste was similar with the mildly sweet chocolate, mild coffee, hint of spices, and roasted malts. Great blend of flavors. It would have had a higher rating but I like a thicker mouth, fuller body. Finish was a little dry and uneventful. Overall it was good though.

22 oz for 6 bucks. Pours black with a small light brown head. Aroma is chocolate, coffee, roasty and a little fruit. Taste is slightly chocolate and oat up front, slight licorice leading to a coffee flavor on the back end that fades relatively quickly but lets you know it’s there. Body is pretty thin - thinner than I like in a Imperial Porter. Slightly creamy mouthfeel keeps it from being below average in that department. Overall this is quite a solid Imperial Porter. Not too many of these kinds of beers exist (at least in my market) so it’s definitely one of the better ones. Recommended.

22oz blue wax capped bomber from peterhazelton. Pours a clear dark brown/almost black color with a small foamy tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, sweet caramel, marzipan, liqorice, and nuts. Taste of burnt caramel, nuts, charred bread, roasted malts, and bitter old chocolate.

Poured from a bomber into a pint glass. Pours jet black, with a moderate light brown head that fades quickly and leaves good lacing. Nose is chocolate and dark roast malt. Taste is chocolate, malt, and a hint of coffee. Clean finish. Very tasty, well-balanced.
