2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Black pour with a thin tan head. Chocolate, light roast, and berry notes in the aroma. Flavor is ashy char, chocolate, roast, booze, light pine and odd fruity esters. Strangely light on the palate with a slick feel until the astringent, boozy finish. Didn’t really do it for me, seems sloppy and a little too boozy for an 8% Imperial Porter, not that it is necessarily too boozy for the style, but the other components should stand up to it better, seems almost watered down.

650 ml bottle courtesy of Denverdiv. Thanks. Pours a dark brown color with a small beige head that slowly recedes to a film. The aroma is mild with cherries, wet earth and roasted grains. The flavor mimics the nose, there are cherries, earth, burnt toast, coffee grounds and walnuts. The palate is full and smooth with soft carbonation. Finishes short with lingering roasted grains. Overall: This really should work better, but somehow the cherries just seem out of place.

Black pour no head. Some sweetness. Most of all cheap malt. Not impressed with this at all.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Mörk brun öl med lite rött i sig. Litet, färgat skum som snabbt försvinner. Doft: Kakao, torkade frukter, rostade nötter, lakrits, sot. Smak: Söt lakrits, tjärpastil, sockerkaka, vanilj, kaffe, mjölkchoklad, torkad aprikos, övermogen banan. Något saknas i kroppen.... Blir dock en 4:a ändå, men en svag en.

Draft. Aroma is dark malt roasty dryness. Looks black with a tan head. The taste is of dark fruit and dry dark malt. Alcohol is noticeable. The palate is ok, a little dry. Overall, a decent porter. Nothing insane. Would buy again.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Strong aroma is surprisingly hoppy, more at an IPA than a porter; it still has that smoky porter note with hints of quality coffee and, yes, cherry. Pours a gorgeous sable with a thick, fine-bubbled tan head that sticks around a bit. Flavor is smoky like a good porter, quite hoppy like an IPA - is this a CBA in disguise? Coffee, cherry, molasses and - varnish? - notes dance about on the palate. Texture has about average firmness and fizz. A distinctive and interesting porter, definitely worth a try if you like the darker beers.
