3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Purchased at College Liquors in Grand Junction, CO; enjoyed on my final night in Fruita, CO while watching Game of Thrones. Appearance is pitch black with a dark tan head. Aroma is rich in dark chocolate, doesn't smell too sweet. Taste is also very rich in dark chocolate, decadent without being too sweet. Nicely done.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle at Imazato. Nose of soy, cocoa, milk, berries. Flavor is pretty much the same with a touch of coffee. A bit plain and flat but ok.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Very dark with dark tan head. Aroma of heavy creme and dark chocolate. Dark and somewhat bitter chocolate, milky taste, also acidic. Palate is actually watery rather than thick and creamy. Lefthand is so much better than this. Disappointing.

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle from World Beer Market (Sake no Taniguchi). Light nose of berries, small chocolate bit, even a hint of citrus, and light fumes. Oily black, slick, no lace. Thin chocolatey initial, some dark fruit, berries, and a touch of lactic stuff. Medium body, creamy, and very little carbonation. Nice enough, for what it is. Kind of lifeless.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Sweet aroma and flavor, with some bitterness and a hint of souring lactose. Complex, yet lighter than I like in a stout. Ok overall.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
A- Cocoa, mocha, sugary,
A- Black color, black liquid, light brown head.
T- Cocoa, dry, coffee, creamy, medium sweetness.
P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, smooth finish.
O- For some reason or another I’ve always kind of passed over SKA beers. I think it’s mostly from the cheeky labels that look like a middle schooler would create or a hey our beer sucks but I’ll pull you in with an interesting label kind of thing. Anyways, I digress. This was actually really good. Not a favorite of mine by any means but as far as a sweet stout goes this one felt pretty textbook. Balanced, complexity in it, and all in all well rounded.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Pours a jet dark black color. Aroma of dark roasted malt. Taste is of burnt malt, with minor sweetness and caramel flavor. Slightly creamy and the milk flavor is evident in the aftertaste. Overall a decent sweet stout that had more stout flavor than sweetness.
