Sweet aroma and flavor, with some bitterness and a hint of souring lactose. Complex, yet lighter than I like in a stout. Ok overall.

Bottle. A- Cocoa, mocha, sugary, A- Black color, black liquid, light brown head. T- Cocoa, dry, coffee, creamy, medium sweetness. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, smooth finish. O- For some reason or another I’ve always kind of passed over SKA beers. I think it’s mostly from the cheeky labels that look like a middle schooler would create or a hey our beer sucks but I’ll pull you in with an interesting label kind of thing. Anyways, I digress. This was actually really good. Not a favorite of mine by any means but as far as a sweet stout goes this one felt pretty textbook. Balanced, complexity in it, and all in all well rounded.

Pours a jet dark black color. Aroma of dark roasted malt. Taste is of burnt malt, with minor sweetness and caramel flavor. Slightly creamy and the milk flavor is evident in the aftertaste. Overall a decent sweet stout that had more stout flavor than sweetness.

12 oz bottle. Pours black with a small khaki head that leaves some spotty lacing. Aroma is cocoa, caramel malt, brown sugar, hint of licorice. Taste is cocoa, caramel malt, lactose, bit of vanilla and coffee. Sweet but with an interesting and unexpected bitterness of hop resin behind it. Fairly quick finish of cocoa and caramel. Medium bodied, thin texture, slightly high carbonation. Would have liked to have had a thicker body on this. Still a tasty beer!

I had this at Global Brew. Pours black with a tiny tan head. Taste roasted malt, chocolate, coffee. I thought this wasn't very good. I would not drink this again. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
