Very dark brown, translucent pour, cloudy with a thick brownish head, nose of coffee and caramel. Tastes of chocolate and maltiness and not much else. Somewhat dissappointing. hopdog (5552), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Feb 6, 2006 12oz bottle acquired in trade with FlactoAlto (thanks!). Poured a dark brown (I could see through it when held up to a light) with an averaged sized tan head. Aromas of roasted malts and some light chocolate. Tastes of pretty much the same. Really not too much to this one. Thin, bordering on watery and one dimensional. Shame, being a rude boy in my ’prime’ days, I really enjoy all the SKA labels... mkobes (2104), paramus, New Jersey, USA

Well, it looks like porter, holds a small tan head. Aroma is cola-like with some Reynolds Wrap. Nice and lively right away with the silent carbonation grabbing you. Flavors of cheap bitter-sweet chocolate are there as well. Not nearly roasty enough but I’ve tasted a hell of a lot worse than this. Probiere (992), Iowa, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Jan 31, 2006 Definitely the little brother of the Nefarious. There is too much anise, the mouthfeel is full but rather slick, the hops are at an appropriate level but the herbalness clashes with the little bit of roast and chocolate. There are some dark fruits swimming around in here, but also a kind of unpleasant saltiness. So-so. JPDIPSO (4898), Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Jan 11, 2006 Very dark brown liquid. Fluffy, diminishing tan head. For some reason, I just can not stand the aroma of this one. Too much licorice and husky grains. LIght malt flavors that that carry throughout the quaff. Simple, no real meat to this one. More husky grains toward the finish. No balance and lacks any black malt qualities. Just a dark ale. luckygirl (1221), Boulder, Colorado, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Jan 9, 2006 Updated: Apr 14, 2006I guess I like more overall umpf in a Porter, this one has me feeling like I’ve been left hanging. Beer pours a very dark-brown color with a small, creamy, light-brown, mostly and quickly diminishing head. The aroma is heavily malty with husky notes of roasted grain, light-to-moderate notes of molasses, chocolate and coffee; a moderate hoppy note of pine/resin; yeasty with moderate notes of bread dough. The flavor begins moderately sweet, lightly bitter and lightly acidic with a long, moderately bitter finish. The flavor seemed weak and watery. The body was light-to-medium with a watery texture and a soft carbonation. barleyPops (1079), Quad-Cities, Illinois, USA
