Aroma is roasted malts and dry dark chocolate. Flavor is a bit lighter than the nose. Some chocolate, some roasted sweet malts, some toffee, and some yeast some through. Finishes sour (weird), some slight hops coming through. No where near as good as the Nefarious Ten Pin Porter. steview (901), Los Angeles, California, USA

There is also some light carmael in the finish. Teh mouthfeel is medium. A decent roasted porter, but finishes with too much almond shell taste. Lumpy (1802), Carrollton, Texas, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 4, 2005 Bottle. Opaque body with a half inch loose head. Nose-lactic like malted milk balls. Taste-light creamed coffee, mild bitter hops, lactic, straw, lots of wood. One of the best porters that I have ever had. ElBorracho (472), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Oct 29, 2005 On tap at The Village Tap. Not much aroma in this one. Faint malt and coffee. There is bitter-sweet chocolate undertones that come through on the finish. No body to speak of. Lacks depth. Indra (2026), Prairie Village, Kansas, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Oct 10, 2005 12oz. bottle. Well roasted, malty aroma, the expected coffee and dark chocolate are present, along with some mildly earthy, spicy hop. Deep, dark red-brown color, nearly black, with a fine, thinning head. Starts with a dry, bitter, grainy note, becoming more hoppy and toasty, and with a twangy blend of cocoa, mild coffee and moderately bitter, fruity hop. Some lingering sweetness. Mouthfeel is a tad thin and watery, body is light-medium. Definitely drinkable but nothing to write home about. NYHarvey (2154), New York, New York, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 6, 2005 Light chocolate and molasses aroma. Amber brown with a thick mocha head. Sweet chocolate fore followed by a smooth and mellow malt profile. No roasted notes at all really to the very last part of the finish where a toned down splash of hop and roasted flavors come through. I found this enjoyable even though it is sweeter than it should be style wise. Kevin (1918), Colorado, USA
