COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The perfect robust porter: The sharp bitterness of the black malt sits nicely within the overall malty sweetness. Full bodied with a medium hop bitterness.

Six different malts are combined to create this complex Robust Porter. Perle and Willamette hops are added to fashion the perfect balance for which the Ten Pin is renowned.

Pours dark brownish black with nice tan head. Aroma has notes of chocolate, coffee, roasted malt, some slight toffee. Taste is a bit more one dimensional, but nice notes of dark chocolate, roast, bitter coffee finish. Overall ok, palate a bit thin and not much to it, but overall not bad.

Extremely dark brown beer with a disappearing beige head. The aroma has a lot of coffee notes and some chocolate as well, with a strong alcohol scent as well. The flavor is chocolatey and bitter, with some burnt malt flavor in the finish. The body is somewhat thin and the wrong aspects of the beer seem to be emphasized.

Poured into a pint glass. 3.0 A: Black color. Just over one finger of frothy light brown head with less than average retention and no lacing. 4.5 S: Wonderful! Chock full of chocolate and sweet caramel. Rich maltiness and lightly grainy. Not overly complex, but a pleasure to sniff. 3.5 T: Taste is a bit disappointing after the nose, but it isn’t bad. Lighter than I expected, but still a good hit of chocolate. Lighter on the caramel though. Slightly grainy and slightly roasty. Pretty good. 3.5 M: Lighter medium body. Good moderate carbonation. Could be creamier, but smooth enough. 3.5 D: I’m drink this again. It’s a decent beer. I’d prefer it to be a bit thicker, but otherwise solid. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 06-12-2011 04:35:47

This might be a bit skewed as its been like 1.5 years since I’ve had a true craft beer of any note. Massive tan head that lasts forever, dark brown bubbily body. Roasted nuts nose with bitter chocolate. Taste is a great blend of dark chocolate, roasted coffee and a hint of sourness at the end. Palate is light and thin, some bottles seemed more creamy than others? Overall this seemed like a good beer to me, though maybe had some style element more suited to a dark lager (light and a touch hoppy at finish?). Also from bottle to bottle I found it very different, one was bubbling out of control and light, another was lifeless and creamy?

Brown. Roasty, toasty, chocolate aroma. Ashy, bitter and chocolate aroma. Ok.

Bottle pours a dark amber/red with a massive foamy tan/brown head. Scent is dark fruit?? Taste is sweet roasted malts, wood, fruit and nuts. Not what I have come to look for in a porter.

thx to matt for trading this !

head: bubbly , beige
colour: black
smell: burned malts, chocolat, sweet soy sauce/oyster sauce, fairly sweet, sesam oil, and a tiny bit of coffee
taste: start is malts, sweet chocolat , grassy hopy flavour, licqorice, cold coffee, end is dry , texture is watery and aftertaste is grassy
overall not a bad brew , but i think they might make it work better if the body wasn’t that thin or if it would have a bit more alcohol "punch" in it ...

Bottle. Pours dark brown with tan head. Nose of dark chocolate, odd perfumy notes, slight medicinal quality. Flavors are medicinal, bakers chocolate, band aid. Thin body. Bad infection here.
