Pours nearly pitch brown, small rocky head. Aroma is very strong dark cocoa, some milder roasty notes, and a very slight maple note. Flavor is initially a bit sweet, again with the cocoa and nutty flavors. My first few sips were quite good, but as my palate adjusted, a metallic/copper flavor made itself known in the midsection, and the end notes are a little off, something a bit too abruptly bitter directly after the sweetness. The basic goodness of porter is here, but a few minor flaws prevent this from being great.

Bottle thanks to a generous BA. Pours dark brown with a slight red hue and a light brown head that dissipated to the edges and lace a bit. Aroma is full of sweet grains with some cereal and dark grains. Flavor has a hint of coffee with sweet dark grains giving a bit of a light chocolate note.

Bottle. Poured a black color with a creamy tan head. Aroma was weaker. Roasted malts, coffee and hops. Flavor was watery, and milk chocolate. I’ve had a lot better. This was drinkable but nothing too special.

Wow, I really liked this one. Great slightly roasty, coffee, chocolate aroma, rich full bodied and very drinkable palate. A beer to aspire too in my opinion. Thanks Beer Masons, for bringing thisone into Australia!
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 15/20 boFNjackson (2705) - Portland, Oregon, USA - JUL 6, 2010
Bottle... Poured near black, deep, with amber highlights and a light, tan head. Nose had coffee beans, herbs, roasted grains, and cocoa powder. On the drier side, sticky palate, which could’ve be it’s only fault. Otherwise rich with chocolate notes, roasted grains, oats with a hint of hop floralness.

Pour is a black with an average tan head. Aroma is a nice roasted malt. Flavor is again a nice roasted malt with some coffee and a nice earthyness rounding things out. This is a nice easy drinking and flavorful porter.

12 oz. bottle from Wine and Cheese Place. Pours a dark brown with a beige head. Notes of roasted malts, caramel, coffee, chocolate, earthy hops, dirt, and toast. Medium-bodied, with moderate carbonation and a roasty finish and aftertaste. Good, straightforward porter with awesome ska packaging.

Nose is lightly roasty, nutty, light chocolate. Pours dark cola brown, short lived head. Flavor is mostly nutty with light chocolate sweetness and a hint of roast. Not too much going on in this one. Light body, medium carbonation.
