| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jan 24, 2008 (Bottle) Pours a brown color with a fluffy off-white head. Dusty aroma includes some weak toffee and dark grains. Taste is very similar, with a light roast towards the finish. Average mouthfeel and carbonation. Actually a well balanced beer, but a little bit too thin and lacking some of the extra flavor that would have made this pretty good. kenb (1100), Oregon, USA

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Nov 7, 2007 Bottle. Body is dark brown although light passes through when held up to the light. Aroma is lightly to moderately malty with notes of coffee, chocolate and some sweetness (molasses). The flavor is moderately sweet, with some hop bitterness throughout. Mouth feel is medium and smooth. The finish is full of hop bitterness which provides a nice balance. A nice porter. RSRIZZO (1362), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Nov 4, 2007 Had this beer on 3/24/2004. Aroma is a mild roasted malt scent. Color is deep dark amber with good carbonation and a thin head. Taste roasted and mellow. Starting with a medium body it goes down with a sharp feel. Finish comes on easy with a mellow roasted flavor and a very mild bitterness. Overall I feel it is a weak Porter, but is an easy enough beer to drink. In the end its just too bland. nearbeer (1834), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA

Aroma is mild coffee with cream, char and a dash of black pepper. Flavors of charred wood, earth, sourish cocoa, and smoky coffee. Palate is light-medium, slightly tingly and watery. performula (147), Triangle Area, North Carolina, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Oct 5, 2007 Its dark, moderate head, and smells bad. Tastes better than it smells but not by much. I’ve had regular Porters that would blow this Imperial away. Malty taste, watery finish. A tad bitter. When I burped I smelled a vegetable. tronraner (1913), Seymour, Tennessee, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Sep 27, 2007 12 oz bottle. Pours mahogany brown with somewhat weak beige head. The aroma is pretty ashy, with some burnt coffee notes, brown sugar, and a sort of sweet plantiness. Flavor is unsurprising based on the aroma. Moderate ashiness, some sweet caramel like notes. The finish is a little bit on the vegetal side, which detracts a bit. Still drinkable, though.
