COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The perfect robust porter: The sharp bitterness of the black malt sits nicely within the overall malty sweetness. Full bodied with a medium hop bitterness.

Six different malts are combined to create this complex Robust Porter. Perle and Willamette hops are added to fashion the perfect balance for which the Ten Pin is renowned.

glennmastrange (1547) - hobe sound, Florida, USA - MAY 7, 2009
Bottle. Heavy malt notes of toasted, cereal, and mild coffee, moderate hop and yeast aromas of herbs and earth, with a hint of vanilla. Head is small, frothy, off-white, with fair lacing and is almost fully diminishing. Color is clear brown. Flavor is moderately sweet and acidic to start and finishes moderately acidic and sour. Palate is light to medium, watery and has a lively carbonation. Bold aromas from this Porter, but a blah finish in both flavor and feel knocks it down a bit.

The aroma is right for a porter with toasted malt, coffee, and hops. The appearance is brown with a large head. The flavor is like the aroma simple and moderately bitter. The palate is average. Overall a decent porter.

I’m not entirely sure why the bottle I had was so much better than everybody else’s recent reviews, but I thought this was an okay beer, certainly not bad. Nose was pretty subdued, but I tasted banana, a little citrus, peatmoss, some hops, and alcohol. I honestly didn’t think it was bad-very odd.
