Commercial Description:
The perfect robust porter: The sharp bitterness of the black malt sits nicely within the overall malty sweetness. Full bodied with a medium hop bitterness.

Six different malts are combined to create this complex Robust Porter. Perle and Willamette hops are added to fashion the perfect balance for which the Ten Pin is renowned.

Bottled@Monks Café, Wallingatan, Stockholm. Very deep amber colour, small brown head. Aroma is wood, toffee, coffee and some mild notes of dark dry fruits. Flavour is wood, fruits, some coffee and mild nuttyness along with a quite roasted malty back. A bit thin.

12oz bottle acquired in trade with FlactoAlto (thanks!). Poured a dark brown (I could see through it when held up to a light) with an averaged sized tan head. Aromas of roasted malts and some light chocolate. Tastes of pretty much the same. Really not too much to this one. Thin, bordering on watery and one dimensional. Shame, being a rude boy in my ’prime’ days, I really enjoy all the SKA labels...

Pours a transparent dark brown with a thin light tan head, that leaves a fine lacing. Aroma has a light cookie dough and caramel presence with mild roasty malt and milk chocolate. Body starts with a nice sugary maltiness tending toward a slightly drier roasty finish with a touch of lactose. Nicely balanced and enjoyable, with good drinkability. Thanks TChrome!

12 oz bottle-pours a fizzy, foamy tan head with a black with red tint color. Aroma is chocolate, coffee dark malt and milky. Taste is chocolate, coffee, dark malt with some bitterness. Chocolate aftertaste. OK carbonation.

Pours dark brown with a minimal white head. Smells of sweet malt and lightly spicy. Tastes earthy and tarte with some chocolatey splashes and a lightly bitter finish.

Dark brown. Aroma is roasted nuts and vanilla, as well an aroma that if a bit off: like rotten vegatables. Body is medium-to-light, a little thin compared to porters of which I'm a big fan. Some sweet coffee and sugary flavors present. Nice smoke and hop finish.

This pours a thick dark brown body with the slimmest of tan heads, soon reduced to the slenderest of tan haloes. The aroma is rich and malty with roasted malts and chocolate adding to your nose’s pleasure. Thick and creamy in the mouth, the flavor is slightly lighter than the aroma. The dark, sweet malt, chocolate, and roastiness come through, but not up to the promise made to the nose. Hop bitterness emerges in the finish to balance out the whole drink. Very nice.

Very dark brown liquid. Fluffy, diminishing tan head. For some reason, I just can not stand the aroma of this one. Too much licorice and husky grains. LIght malt flavors that that carry throughout the quaff. Simple, no real meat to this one. More husky grains toward the finish. No balance and lacks any black malt qualities. Just a dark ale.
