I really think most users are biased against light-colored beers, because this was pretty good, but it’s universally panned here. This is light, clear and golden, very active with a decent foamy head. Stark sweet malt aroma. Rich in flavor for the color: malt with floral tones, light and spicy, with a peppery edge.

Light bread, straw malt. Grassy hops. Pale gold body. Lightly sweet flavor becomes a lightly bitter finish. Medium-light body, watery texture, lively carbonation. The bottom line is: it's a blond...

Pours yelolow with a thin white head. Mildly spicy aroma and lightly fruity. Ever so light banana taste. Very thin and watery.

Sudsy white head and straw body with light carbonation. Fresh wheaty nose, light malts and diacetyl, and a hint of citrus. Light buttery malt flavor and very mild bitterness. A decent blonde, but just a blonde.

Attractive; for me the highlight was the aroma. Malty nose with hints of honey and spice. Slight presence of hops with a bitter finish. Not bad but I don't think I'd make an effort to find it again.

Poured a light clear golden color, with a small head with big bubbles that mostly dissipated quickly. Has a honey aroma with floral hints. The initial taste was of honey with some citrous on the side. I normally expect a blonde ale to be pretty bland, but this had more flavor than most.

This beer is very unappealing. The aroma borders on revolting...watered down urine might be a good description. Appearance is clear and yellow, not appetizing. Taste is bland and slightly corny. Not impressive.

3fourths (6958) - Straßgiech, Bavaria, GERMANY - AUG 11, 2003
UPDATED: DEC 19, 2012 Clear yellow. Aroma has some skunkyness and some cigarette smoke qualities. Tastes is bland and one-sided lageresque: tin, cigarettes, medicine, etc
