3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 ben4321 (3031) - Hoboken, New Jersey, USA - JUN 12, 2013
Location: 22 oz bottle from Whole Foods - Kirby,6/12/13
Aroma: The aroma is malty and grainy, some some straw notes, light grass, and mild fruit
Appearance: It pours a clear golden color with a small white head and some light lacework
Flavor: The difference from nose to flavor is more yeast and spice,, and the grass come out a bit more too
Palate: The body is fairly light, but it isn’t watery, it has a soft feel, and a spicy tingle on the finish
Overall Impression:
I was fairly unimpressed by this one. There just isn’t anything too exciting here, and I thought I’d get a more inspired beer from SKA. It is not a bad beer, it just doesn’t really excite.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 hotstuff (3350) - Indiana, USA - APR 2, 2013
Backlog rating 1-06-2009 (Bottle) The Appearance is a white semi-fizzy small head with poor retention, transparent body, visible carbonation, one ring of lacing, and a yellow-golden hue. The Aroma is sweet, clove, fruity, and lightly hoppy. This beer taste sweet, honey, lightly malty, and fruity. The Palate is slightly tingly and this is a light-medium bodied beer. Overall, this beer does not smell or taste like a Belgian Strong Ale and it did not set the world on fire for me in any way, shape or form. The Aromas and Flavors did not click especially for this beer style. This is a beer that will not be on my personal list of beers that I want to drink in the future.
2.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 4/20 Beerenberger (824) - Fischer, Texas, USA - FEB 20, 2013
Aroma of spices, herbs, belgian yeast, and honey. Pours a bright clear yellow with no head or lacing. The taste is slightly sweet. Belgian spices, hints of honey, cloves, and grain with a peppery finish. An alcohol taste also present. Medium-light body and carbonatin. Overall, ok, but I’m not going to buy it again.

wow!!! This is rated 50????? WTF?????? This is excellent, I think the Trappist monks need to make a journey to Colorado to see how a Belgian Ale is made!!!!!
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 17/20 beerbastard (511) - Mesa, Arizona, USA - JUL 30, 2012
Apple and pears mixed some faint alcohol in the background. Subdued flavors, nothing stands out. Mild sweetness mixed with fruits and spices. Some medicinal like tastes in the background. Nothing wrong, except its not very bold, as I would expect from a strong ale style. Kick it up a notch.

2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 maxwelldeux (2368) - Raleigh, North Carolina, USA - JUN 10, 2012
I just can’t get into Belgians. This has the sweetness characteristic of the style, but not a lot else to the beer.
3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 weihenweizen (1198) - Charleston Area, West Virginia, USA - MAY 10, 2012
Refrigerated bomber compliments of joepeesie poured into a trappist glass. Pours hazy golden with small white head that dissapates quickly. Small big bubble, medium/thin rocky body, low carbonation, slightly syrupy texture, and sweet aroma. Taste is doughy malt, some candy sugar, some honey, spice and light bitter finish. Not a great brew, but I like it because it is different.
