COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
WheelSucker Wheat, a collaboratively brewed 7.2% mountainous hefeweizen from Avery and Ska.

Adam Avery and his brewers came down to Durango and brewed it up with the folks at Ska. A few weeks later Dave Thibodeau and Arlo from Ska went up to Boulder and then they all rode their bikes 426 miles from Avery to Ska, over a ridiculous number of mountain passes.

Low-filled bottle. Proper look, unfiltered light orange, fine-bubbled white head. Nose full of peppery clove, spicy citrus, soft lemon, sweet wheat, a squeeze of lime and a small hint of mint or cilantro. Body is full, chewy, frothy, hefty on approach and across the middle. Finish turns slightly sweet and twangy, with mango, lemon zest and overipe banana bursting forth on the palate. Surprisingly well-balanced and delicious. They have a winner here.

UPDATED: AUG 26, 2010 Sample at the Avery tap room/brewery. This brew pours a cloudy lemonade color with a thin white head that burns away to a residual film. Spotty lacing on the glass. Aroma of lemons and wheat. Light, clean body with a citrusy character and flavors of wheat and banana, plus a touch of clove. The finish is wheaty with a fruity aftertaste. Decent collaboration brew overall.
